Love and peaceful to wack around, can also have a bbq and a picnic as there is a picnic bench on the jetty.

A bit of a magical place when you walk over the island in the footsteps of those 6th century monchs who founded the parish. Even before the early Christian times, there must have been settlements as the remnants of an ancient rath suggest which can be traced on the ground when walking up from the jetty towards the ruins of the church. As the island is uninhabited, it is not difficult to imagine the quietness and loneliness in which people in earlier times must have created this place. St. Ninnidh (leth derc or the one-eyed") is said to have founded the monastery around 532 A.D.
