Local pub I tend use on a sunny day as the views are excellent when sitting outside. Staff are excellent and the food is wholesome British grub

Have had many Sunday lunches here. The lamb is to die for and the beef & pork are just as melt-in-the-mouth. The veg is very good and all fresh (except the peas), though portions are small, and you pay extra for cauliflower-cheese. Lovely Yorkshire puds too. Dessert menu good but could do with revision. Will be there again this weekend

Zero welcome by a chef with bad attitude, who did not want to be there and a young girl who eventually tried. Still did manage to get a single response from the chef on asking for x2 menus!Leek and potato soup...no seasoning and not worth £4.95. Whitebait was very nice. Turkey and ham pie was nice but the sauce was watery, the vegatables needed butter but were good. The cabonara was like nothing I have ever seen or eaten before. See picture of greyness. It was completey devoid of bacon eggs & parmesan and if there was cream in it it was negligible. Instead it was ham onion mushrooms in the ham pie sauce with cream!!! On requesting parmesan we were informed they had none but could offer chedar! The salad waa fresh but devoid of dressing. We had to share our menus with fellow customers as they too werw ot offerd any. Location and views were lovely nice and clean and the Ladies WC was very good. The dining area was lovely and the pub has a nice garden and a pool table.

Our son and his family moved to Clifton last week. We visited and whole family, 4 adults and 2 kids went for Sunday lunch. Lovely meal, good portions and landlord and staff were brilliant. Our daughter and husband live in Great Whitley so the plan is to celebrate her birthday at the New Inn at the end of the month. Will be in touch to book. Pubs like this are few and far between these days. Here’s to our next visit. Cheers

Wonderful Sunday lunch and the crumble was simply to die for. Great welcome and service. Frequently checking we were happy with our visit. The garden is very pleasant and the underground wasps nest fascinating to watch - from a distance! Hope you had a good 2 day break we very much look forward to supper tonight!
