Very nice independant coffee shop, great cakes and scones. The bacon rolls ain't too bad either!

This isnt the worst cafe ive been to. It is quite atmospheric with an old world theme but the food could be improved, as could the service. Whilst the waitresses seem very friendly in their own right, i think that theyre very disinterested in their jobs (some not all) and could use some guidance from a more expierienced individual. As for the food, its honestly just very bland and just not very nice. Try for yourself and make your own judgement, not my cup of tea.

Great little coffee shop in the heart of Callander right in Ancaster Square. We ordered some tea, a soup, and a toastie. There is plenty of comfortable seating inside, particularly in the back with the set of couches. Highly recommend this coffee shop if you're in Callander!

Popped in for a quiet coffee and was greeted with a wide selection of cakes etc. Staff were really welcoming and efficient. Great atmosphere. Great coffee.

Where to start, first off we had soup and toasties. Soup to be fair was nice however toasties were as you can see from the photos utterly lamentable & tasteless with one thin slice of cheap ham and minimal veg. Charging £11 for this is and a bowl of soup is disgraceful. When it came to service the younger staff were totally disinterested and had as much enthusiasm and customer service as Kevin & Perry. We over heard the manager say they were 2 new starts and clearly he wasn’t providing any guidance, supervision or help for them to up their game. In fact when he came to wipe down our table he just used his hands to wipe the crumbs off. This should have been our warning to just walk out, wish we had.The sign on the wall clearly sums up their attitude to the people who pay for their services. There are much nicer places in Calender, so I’d advise you to look elsewhere.

Welcoming, dog-friendly cafe heated by a large wood burning stove. Comfortable seats, good tray-bakes. Outdoor seats and tables available, mainly away from busy main road. Very friendly staff in our experience. Ideal if you're looking to break your journey in Callander.

Stopped off for coffee and cake on our way back to our hotel and it's a lovely little cafe with quirky decor. The coffee was by far the best I've had since we got here. The only let down is that the staff were just a bit unenthusiastic despite multiple times to engage, mainly young people, perhaps covid teenagers who haven't learned how to get in to a dialogue. That's easily fixed with a bit or training though.

Three for lunch, 2 soups with filled rolls, and a toastie which came with choice of 3 fillings and a good portion of salad and crisps. Find a table then order and pay at the front. Lentil and carrot soup was delicious and hot and the bacon roll was well filled. A previous review mentioned cheap ham- this had been changed to a decent cut for us. I had tea which although it came in a large mug was a tea bag in hot water-could have done with a pot of hot water to utilise the bag more. Young ladies serving, pretty fast and efficient from what I could see. The log burner was off (mid September) but I imagine a week or so will see it on.

Teenagers running a busy cafe/eaterie is a questionable venture. Why? Because they lack genuine people skills and appear disinterested in the experience of those ultimately paying their wages... that's right the customers unless of course the customers are other teenagers, which seems unlikely in Callendar. On both occasions I went there I had to ask for the table to be cleared of the previous customers mess. Then there was the average food and what was billed as a burger roll but in fact tasted like reconstituted hessian backing for a cheap carpet and which lay in my stomach for the rest of the day. Won't be back for the disinterested service or the lousy burger.
