Partner went to Sunderland branch today to pay in loose coins / notes she was told they would only accept them if it was to pay a bill or direct debit , should not have to explain what it’s for , Cashier had a attitude problem .

Absolutely the worst bank ever. Staff so slow you may as well take a good hour of your day out for banking here. Take a book to read or your airpods because waiting at least an hour is guaranteed with a rude cashier waiting for you after your wait.The manager Katie is a disgrace with no customer service skills and couldn't care less.

The reviews just say it all, horrendous costumer service RUDE RUDE RUDE advisors, the worst costumer service I have received in Years. So bad that I better travel and visit the Newcastle branch than having to deal with the xenophobia at this facility.

Awful!can't put money into my little boy's account without ID and account number. Didn't want any information just put money in but was refused. Will be closing the account shortly.

I wanted to change coins into money but had to contact head office as it says they only accept £10 a time but I can’t come into branch several days running as I have a heart problem but the lady from head office tried to phone local branch but no one was answering the phone so she sent them a email asking them to call me but spent all afternoon waiting for a phone call but no one yet and it’s time for branch to shut so bad customer service.

Worst experience I have had of visiting any bank branch.Self service machines not working, no staff to greet/overlook the bank floor to assist, and a single teller working.If you're based in Sunderland and rely on high street banking, choose to bank elsewhere.

In one word - AbismalOn 14/4/14, following their recent refurbishment & as a Halifax customer, I visited the branch to try to open / transfer some money into an Isa account. I was astounded to be told I would have to wait 2 weeks before I could speak to someone to be able to do this!!!!!They have removed the majority of the counter services & interview room facilities, this is beyond comprehension.Exit one disgruntled customer who is now making enquires to transfer savings accounts to a more accessible bank
