Mentiplay Grit Blasting Dunfermline

Absolutely Atrocious Service and Very Bad Manners!! As a landscaping company we preordered a skip from Murray Mentiplay Skip Hire to be delivered early am. The skip did not arrive on time and when we telephoned Mr Mentiplay he said it was on the vehicle and would be there! By lunchtime it had not arrived and when we called Mr Mentiplay he told us everyone wants them at the same time when the sun comes out and that we should've ordered it earlier. It eventually came that day! On the same job we required the skip to be changed over and therefore took into account Mr Mentiplays previous comment and booked the changeover on the Saturday for swapping on Monday PM/1st thing Tues AM. Mr Mentiplay told us this was fine however when it hadn't arrived we phoned him on Tuesday around 9.30am and he told us it was on for delivery. By 10.30am we still hadn't received it and spoke to his wife who's manner also left a lot to be desired namely asking us 'what do you want me to do about it?' (extremely bad attitude). We tried to explain that we had 5 men on the job as well as a digger on hire and that not having the skip changed was posing serious and costly problems. We again contacted Mr Mentiplay who said it would be there within the hour and the reason it didn't arrive on Monday pm was because it was raining and that they were at the tip! Reaching Mrs Mentiplay again she confirmed that Mr Mentiplay 'forgot to tell anyone about the changeover'. We managed to obtain a number for the driver (their son) who said he knew nothing about the skip and that his mother and father tell people anything on the phone to get rid of them and he was sick of it. He was very apologetic and promised us the skip within 45mins. If we had time on the job we would have made arrangements to cancel this firm and choose another but given the number of men on site and the digger hire we would've been pushed to expect another company to provide a skip within a matter of hours. The tag on their website reads Reliable Skip Hire which we can honestly say in our experience on 2 ocassions with this firm is a complete and utter joke! Good luck to anyone who uses them!

Extensive damage was done to our property. Ronald agreed to a partial refund but did not return any money. I would not recommend this company. It has been a costly mistake, we are still trying to rectify the damage.
