Sharon The Doula

We were looking for someone to support us through our first pregnancy and birth experience. After speaking with few local doulas, we chose Sharon as she seemed very knowledgeable and warm. We couldn't make a better choice. Initially, she was preparing us for a natural birth, covering hypnobirthing techniques and baby 101. Later in the pregnancy, we decided to have an elective c-section and we weren't sure if we still needed Sharon on call for the day. She ended up supporting us at the hospital, staying with us the whole day and it was so useful. The day is so chaotic and overwhelming that having someone to support anxious first-time parents was priceless. My partner did not panic and knew exactly how to support me thanks to the hypnobirthing techniques which still can be applied during c-section. We were also not left alone after the birth. She visited us when we came back from the hospital and three weeks after, being available for any questions during the whole time.

Sharon was our doula during pregnancy and birth. She gave us a really thorough grounding in the process of pregnancy and birth and lots of tips to get baby in the right position to give an easier labour. During the birth she was indispensable as we had to make a few different choices and she was such a reassuring and helpful sounding board. She even picked up on a moment when we’d asked the midwife to do an internal but not to break my waters, and Sharon spotted that the midwife was preparing to break my waters just in time to stop it. My husband and I would never have known, not having given birth before! I had a wonderful birth experience thanks to Sharon and I’m sure it’s because her presence made everything that bit calmer and smoother. Would definitely recommend to others :)

Sharon has supported us with postnatal since our twin girls were born. They are now 8 months old and Sharon is totally indispensable! We are a busy house with a 6 year old girl and 5 year old boy as well as our twins. Since day 1 Sharon has built a relationship with all of the children as well as myself and my husband and she now feels like part of the family. Sharon has so much knowledge and experience that she brings to caring for our babies, from winding to settling , feeding issues and developmental milestones. Having her around has enabled me to grow as a mother and learn from her. She also subtly gets all the household jobs done without you noticing - making everything feel more organised and the day feel more manageable. I cannot recommend Sharon highly enough. She is quite simply brilliant.

Sharon was our Doula at our home birth in May and I would highly recommend her to anyone considering a Doula. Sharon provided me with great support in the months leading up to the birth, taught me amazing hypnobirthing techniques and was a calming and very welcome presence at my birth - our baby arrived before the Midwife did so having Sharon with us was incredibly reassuring, which made the experience so much more positive than if she hadn’t been. Sharon is a friendly, kind and nurturing lady and the perfect Doula.

Sharon was a godsend! She came highly recommended by another sought after doula that had already retired. I'm forever thankful that we found her as having her was like having a trusted family member at the birth of our child. As first time parents-to-be whose families are based far away, we could not have asked for more/better. We felt at ease with her from the get-go and she certainly empowered us greatly by prepping us well for the process as well as being our rock during labour/ delivery. She was my voice of reason and affirmation when I had any doubts/worries during the entire process. She also supported both myself and my partner amazingly and has such a warm and nurturing spirit. We chose hypnobirthing and are so glad we did. Would recommend her over and over again if we could. Love you Sharon!

Sharon has been amazing throughout my pregnancy and even now when my baby is due to turn one. Her insights into how to handle certain situations and her understanding of the way I in which babies develop is incredible. Whenever times are tough she has reassured me and explained what could be going on as to put my mind at ease. I owe my sanity to her!
