Voortrekker Shetland - Self Catering Accommodation Shetland

Close to Levenwick beach Voortrekker is the perfect accommodation with the nicest hosts one can imagine. Great views right out of the window and good infrastructure with stores in Sandwick and Bigton and a supermarket in Lerwick. After your day on the beautiful but windy island of Shetland Voortrekker even has a private spa with a hot tub to get you cosy and warm again. We've been spoilt so much, we didn't want to leave at all. We will come back soon for sure. :) Thank you so much Niki and Piet! <3

Fantastic place, Hosts Niki and Piet have built a special oasis in Southpounds Shetland. Our accommodation space and facilities where 5 star, some of the most outstanding views from accommodation we have had.Did I mention the Spa and Sauna, incredible after a long day , and the views from the spa, wow.Overall a 5 star experience and would recommend highly to stay at their special piece of paradise.Kind Regards Brad and Penny .(Australia)

A wonderful break away for our “staycation honeymoon”.Niki went over and above for us both. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated for our wedding night. She was incredibly welcoming and made us feel completely at ease. The sauna and hot tub were absolutely sensational, we couldn’t believe the views and scenery from it!We loved the facilities in our room and in the spa room. My husband is a big coffee fan so the selection of coffees very much excited him!The surrounding area is beautiful too, and we thoroughly enjoyed a walk to the beautiful Levenwick beach and back.We can’t recommend here enough, I was I was still there now! We will definitely be back soon.

Voortrekker was amazing. The room was spacious, clean and had everything you need. The spa was so relaxing. Nikki and her husband were warm, welcoming and friendly including their dogs. We will be back again - thank you!

I cannot recommend our stay at Voortrekker enough. Our accommodation was amazing. Sparkly clean, everything you could possibly need for your stay and more. The view from our windows was just stunning. Niki and Piet were perfect hosts and a big thank you to Niki for being our personal tour guide!! We just loved our few wonderful days in Shetland.

Our first visit to Shetland, and the accommodation was ideal. Comfortable, cosy and containing everything we needed for our stay. Nikki and Piet (our hosts) were very welcoming and made us feel really at home from the start. The hot tub was an added bonus after being out for the day. Excellent birdwatching, seals and Orcas all could be seen within walking distance of the apartment. Peaceful location with beautiful scenery. Highly recommended.

This is such a lovely place. Everything about it is great, with generous accommodation and excellent toiletries and linen - everything you'd want from a 'home from home.' The icing on the cake is undoubtedly the spa area - the hot tub and the sauna. To sit in the hot tub, taking in the sublime view as it changes moment to moment according to the weather - sheer bliss! Nothing is any bother to Niki and Piet either. I can't recommend highly enough.

Warm, cosy, wonderful views, but above all peaceful. We stayed in ‘Quinni’ for a week, a thoughtfully and well equipped studio, well decorated and spotlessly clean. After long walks we relaxed in the hot tub looking out to sea and, on a sunny day, had coffee on the large balcony. Niki and Piet were always most welcoming and helpful. We visited Jarlshof, Sumburgh Head, the craft shop and cafe in Hoswick and St Ninian’s Isle where a sea otter walked across the sand in front of us and into the sea. We left refreshed and renewed.
