Good walking over surrounding hills, lots of archaeological sites of various ages (Bronze age, Iron age, Roman, medieval). Small stoney river.

Easy walks, bordering access to the Cheviots. Plenty of places for families to have a picnic and a bit of a run around. Be kind to the area though.
