I went on the day they had the braai club over. The restaurant overlooks the ocean and the outside bar gives it a Miami Beach vibe. Really like the atmosphere and vibe. They played South African music too to support the braai club there and it was great. The food pics are From the braai club" that visited the crate"

A popular cafe with good coffee and food and a nice view iver the marina. Coffee not always as hot as it should be but staff are always pleasant. Dog friendly seating outside and I spotted a bar in the outside seating area last time I visited. Clever Halloween decorations, the spiders unnerved me!

Have a variety of food available as well as tea & coffee. Cakes are also served as well as things like sausage rolls. I had a sausage roll which the staff are happy to warm up and I have to say it was very tasty. There is a bar outside which serves various beer wines & cider. Staff here very helpful and friendly. Would recommend a visit. Not the cheapest but well worth it. Also dogs are welcome. Big plus.

Stumbled upon The Crate while having our car serviced at PGS garage. What a great find, great food, service & views of the sea and Portsdown Hill. Will definitely be going back again plus I've been looking at all the different events they hold there. Would definitely recommend

Second time I’ve been here. Came midweek for an indulgent breakfast a few weeks ago with a handful of other customers. Today (a Saturday) is a complete contrast with The Crate busy inside and out with lots of people enjoying breakfast and cakes out in the sun.Service was quick and friendly on both occasions and the food fresh made and tasty. Will be back again for sure.

What a fabulous little hidden gem!Full english was delicious. Service great and they allow dogs. Great views too and plenty of parking. Not easy to spot but a fab find in castle trading estate.

Hidden gem. Good selection of food and drink to choose from at a reasonable price. Food was very nice and didn't have to wait too long for it to come out. Plenty of seating inside and out with the added bonus of a bar outside. Great views across to Port Solent. Will be back again soon.

We had the festive ciabatta with chicken, brie, cranberry sauce, stuffing and bacon. Probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The café inside is a little gem, lovely vibe and lots of food on the menu. Coffee was not the best one but decent. I have to take off a star as they served first two tables who ordered after us.But I will come back to try the cakes!

Quite a find (in more ways than one) for an informal business meeting over coffee, once you've found it it's a little gem in a great location overlooking the upper reaches of Portsmouth Harbour facing east towards Port Solent. Didn't have any food but other peoples' looked crummy. Service was a bit slow for mid morning on a Wednesday, hate to think what it's like at lunchtimes. Atmosphere lovely.
