Kirsten and myself would like to thank John Benson and team for the care and empathy shown to us on the passing of our loved one Michael. Celebration of life was everything we wanted as a family.Caring service and fully informed along the way.

Thank you to Robert and his team as they did a stellar job--including managing somewhat usual circumstances of moving our father from Edinburgh to West Yorkshire. No detail was missed, no request was too hard and nothing could have been improved upon or handled any better.

I could not recommend them enough. Robert especially went above and beyond. He made the impossible task of planning my dads funeral at only 29 that bit easier. I know there is so much that goes on behind the scenes however, everything was perfectly smooth. Will forever be grateful for how much care and respect they showed myself but also my dad. I cannot thank them enough.

On behalf of Pamela, Pauline, Lisa and family.Having read reviews from around the same time as our Mum, our Nana, who was entrusted to the ‘care’ of Heys Bradford we can scarcely believe this is the same funeral Director. The one Mum herself chose and made the arrangements with prior to her passing, so as not to burden her family.We have only now been able to bring ourselves to feedback on our experience with Heys during July 2023.Mum was visited almost daily by her 3 Daughters and Grandchildren, It became apparent that Heys could not provide a suitable resting place or facilities befitting a person laid to rest.After complaining about her initial location, which was a room/office cluttered with furniture, Mum was moved to an area that can only be described as a ‘workshop’. Tools, rags, candle ends dust and grime.To the point that Mum’s youngest daughter acquired furniture polish and cloths and proceeded to clean the area and coffin in the presence of staff.Arrangements were swiftly made to have Mum transferred to another Funeral Director who could and did provide the quality of presentation, compassion, respect and care that clearly Heys could not provide, but of which our Mum was so deserving.Heys may in mitigation point to the factthat their roof had been damaged and that commercially they needed to carry on with their business.At what cost to the dignity of our dear Mum and the memories left of those awful resting place surroundings left on her family?This is an abridged, highly negative and emotive review and will form part of a complaint to the N.A.F.D. If no star was an option it would have been applied. We do not wish another family to have to go through the same traumatic experience and to have such appalling memories. These due to circumstances verging on ‘neglect’ of due diligence if not common sense and decency.

The staff at Joseph A Hey have been absolutely wonderful . They delivered a prompt , efficient and caring service to all the family despite it being a very busy time of the year. Any questions or worries were sorted out quickly and sympathetically. Thanks for helping us to remember a lovely lady in a lovely way.

I can't recommend Joseph Hay's enough. What was a horrific time arranging my dad's funeral, was helped incredibly by Robert with his expertise, kindness and compassion. His calmness certainly helped settle me during this time and knowing that dad was being taken care of. The funeral was just outstanding and we couldn't have wished for better. Many many thanks
