voco Edinburgh - Haymarket, an IHG Hotel

A £250 perfume which was a Christmas gift was stolen from my room by staff in this hotel. I asked them to post the gift to me as circumstances meant I couldn’t go to the post office myself. Receptionist was extremely rude and unhelpful, and when I notified the manager the next day of the theft they were refusing to help, didn’t apologise and haven’t offered anything to make up for the fact my gift I asked them to post me was stolen, instead they were rude and unhelpful when I said I’d need to report it to the police they said they’d refuse to check the CCTV to question the staff in the room to ask them unless the police require it elongating the whole process meaning they’re allowing their staff to get away with the theft.Their behaviour and lack of care has made me feel that the hotel is unsafe as the staff do not care about our safety, our health, or our property.The theft has been reported to the police and I’m writing this review urging people to not stay here as you are not safe. Especially as a woman travelling alone which is appalling in this day and age.

We loved our two night stay. The beds were soooo comfy and room very clean.The staff were super helpful and ordered us taxis when we needed which came quickly.Breakfast was good but a little crowded in the restaurant and people reaching over all the food ( buffet service ) but other than that it was tasty.Good location but at least a 15 minute walk to the castle area.

No washcloths, no shower cap, no hairdryer in room. Room nice, but tiny wardrobe if staying more than a night or two. No bath, but very nice shower stall. Overall, I think 4 star accommodation a bit of a stretch, as they had none of the special services I would usually associate with that star rating. Bed good, pillows firm, not my preference. I paid £764 for two nights of accommodation, which included a £35 refundable damages" charge at prebooking

Stayed here with my friend for a weekend and it was great!!! The location is perfect as everything you need is in working distance. Paid £180 for a room with good views and facilities such as fridge, television, iron and en-suite. Everything was cleaned thoroughly(amazing work to cleaner). Our stay included breakfast which was delicious with a good selection to choose from. Staff were very attentive and also had a smile on their faces. Only complaint is that you have to pay £8 per night for each different movie/to series. Would definitely stay here again!!! (PSA, after you have checked out you can leave your luggage for free and explore the city )

Stayed here for 3 nights back in July. The ppl working there were super nice and professional. Loved the short walk over to princes gardens each morning. Prices in the restaurant were good as well.Heading back to Scotland in January and spending a few nights there again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the receptionist staff. Despite the convenient location and decent facilities, the service was lacking hospitality and availability of room after doing pre-booking. The front desk staff seemed uninterested in helping and were quite dismissive of my concerns regarding room cleanliness. I felt unwelcomed and unsupported throughout my stay. I hope the management addresses this issue to enhance the overall guest experience.”
