A real piece of Bournemouth History. With so much emotion and grief encapsulated in such a small but beautiful area, it actually represents so much love as well.Walking beside the long brick and iron railed wall on Charminster road, as so many of 'them' would have, you can't help but think about all those lives.Is that why gravestones are so fascinating to most of us?In many cases, -they truly are likely to be a person's last link to back to the living. They do allow us, to try to get a bit closer, to learn a little more. Rarely enough though. Still, it does allow you to reconnect with your own inner spirit as well, usually remembering the importance of living a better life. So, it's definitely a holy place. The church/chapel itself, viewed from the internal main road, is a beautiful masterpiece. Lucky for us, its surrounded by all that history, in a quite lovely and relaxed suburb. At least it is, on an early Sunday morning :-)

I live opposite this cemetery and it is very beautiful. However, I am only giving 2 stars because you used to be able to walk across the cemetery by entering or any leaving through the big gate on the corner of Charminster rd and Iddesleigj rd. but now this gate ( both the main and the side gate ) is locked with a padlock. Why is this?

I love this place cuz it has a small road behind the cemetery called stoke wood Road because on the starting of that road I founded a phosco chine lantern on the middle of the small pedestrian crossing.

Nos ha encantado este cementerio! Siendo muy diferente a los que tenemos en España ( con lápidas) los cementerios británicos me parecen más bonitos y más integrados con la Naturaleza.

Massive Cemetery. My grandparents are buried here. Very moving to eventually find the headstone.
