We have traveled for bank holiday from London, and we have had a fantastic meal tonight. The food is super tasty, fresh and the naan breads are the best I have ever eaten. Well worth a visit for outstanding food and service! Thank you for such a lovely meal

The Guru, one of the best Indian restaurants to visit when in Edinburgh. I travel up to Edinburgh often and the first place I visit is Guru. The food is amazing and flavoursome; will excite your senses and lets not forget the naan bread. You will not find these types of naan breads in London or anywhere else.Highly recommend restaurant to visit; a family friendly environment with amazing staff and owners who personally oversaw our order.

We absolutely loved The Guru, wanted to try it for so long and it was so worth it. We were four and we were treated excellent, the staff are wonderful, always willing to give recommendations and checking everything is okay. We went with my parents in law who never had real Indian food and they weren’t sure what to order. After some recommendations from the staff, they ordered and they absolutely loved it. The portions were so big we had to take some home! Trust me, if you want to have the best indian food in Edinburgh, you definitely need to go to The Guru!! We will be back in our next visit to Scotland!

Seems expensive, and service was a bit chaotic. There were so many mistakes made on the food we ordered. Lastly, the quantity of meat in the dishes was extremely small (a few tine cubes in each bowl)

This is by far the best Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. I visited Edinburgh for a short break with my family and decided to visit this place. The atmosphere, the service and the food was excellent. Staff are very friendly and go the extra mile to provide a brilliant service. If your Edinburgh make you visit this place. Food 10/10, service 10/10 and location is excellent.

Recommended by our B&B owner and it was just as he said, amazing! I've never seen naans like it and it was so light and airy. Service was outstanding and the owners were happy to come and answer our questions. The food was soooo tasty, just a shame we can't get takeaway from them in England. Don't miss the chance to eat there.

Every time i go to a restaurant you usually get mid to amazing food. Guru is spectacular that it crashes out of the scale. I’ve never had such a great burger in my whole entire life. In this burger, you will find beautiful caramelised onions and a chapli kebab that melts in your mouth. The service is lovely because they are not rude or grumpy, they are quite the opposite. They smile every time you look at them and when they serve you, they look happy to do that. I certainly enjoyed my experience at Guru. And will DEFINITELY come back as for everyone else, please come here. You will be pleased with the experience

Lovely restaurant. We came from Glasgow where we are spoiled for choice in terms of Indian food however I have had the best Indian meal tonight. We had aloo tikki , spiced potato cakes that were to die for followed by palak paneer and the biggest fluffiest yummiest naan bread I’ve ever had. Lovely couple that run the restaurant as well couldnt do enough for us such a treat.please go along youll love it

HORRIBLE ALLERGY EXPERIENCE!A group of 5 went in for dinner - my friend and I have allergies to gluten. The menu clearly indicates which items are vegetarian, contain gluten etc. My friend and I closely read the labels and ordered a starter to share and 2 entrees which were all labeled as NOT containing gluten. After consuming the appetizer, my friend and I became extremely ill. I asked the staff whether our appetizer contained gluten, despite being labelled as NOT.After what felt like a bunch of back and forth out of the kitchen, the older gentleman, who I assume was the manager, told me that it did. He continue to tell me ‘it isn’t that much gluten’ and that the menu just made a mistake. Unbelievable. The various staff were nice enough and were quite helpful for the rest of the evening. It wasn’t their fault and you could see they felt really bad.The response of the manager was appalling. I told him they need to take all the menus currently on the tables and make the change - even in pen - to ensure the allergens are correctly labeled so they don’t poison someone else. He said he would but when we left, all the INCORRECT menus were still out. I mentioned it again and said you have a responsibility to ensure your menus are correct and he brushed me off saying he would do it.The complete lack of action to ensure it doesn’t happen again to someone else is disgusting. You would have expected him to rush to tell his staff to find a pen and correct every menu. They covered our bill, which was appreciated and we tipped the staff anyhow (they were quite nice) but the lack of action to fix a severe issue is so irresponsible and demonstrated no intention to ensure better customer safety in the future.
