Appetite London Master Butcher & Steakhouse

We tried oh so many times having a proper t-bone (1kg+) dinner in London that had the quality and the experience we miss so much from our trips in Piedmont or even more so, Tuscany. And we went everywhere in London, the expensive mayfair restaurant, the “other” coveted Italian butcher/restaurant (although a chain) in south kensington... and the more recent addition in Liverpool Street. But nothing compares to Appetite. They love what they do, they know the cuts, and how to cook them to perfection. Their meat is superb, marbled, tender, you can eat it as it is but the little trip it makes on the charcoal grill transforms the cuts, makes them sublime. The peppercorn sauce - amazing. The starters - fabulous. Even the sides don’t disappoint. And it is just our second time at this gem. I am eager to go through all their menu, one bite at a time

We stumbled across this Italian gem whilst looking for a bite to eat ahead of the Varsity Hockey match at the Olympic Hockey arena. We were warmly greeted by owner Matteo, and we immediately felt comfortable. We had cheese burgers and chips, which were delicious as you would expect from a master butcher. I had a pint of the on tap IPA, which was super refreshing. Great shop, with onsite butcher, deli, wine, and beer for sale. Wish we lived closer. The locals are spoilt with this exceptional establishment right on their doorsteps.

Excellent butcher-to-table food. Unpretentious and delicious. We had the beef tartar, sweetbreads, ribeye steak and the famous burger with a juicy bottle of red wine. Kind service and solid value for money. Totally recommended.

Hands down the best pork chop I ever had in London! The price was not too high, the service was fantastic, and the venue was nice inside. Very recommended! I am yet to meet the italian owner, but this place is a must go!

What a lovely place to visit and buy meet and cheese and stop and eat too! Lovely wines in stock including the house wine. A perfect family atmosphere. We love coming here. We reserved our Christmas fare here this year. Always lovey. Well done. Keep up the good work and your passion to serve and olease.

Well there are good news and bad news… A minor miss communication with the first person that served us regarding the beers on tap. We asked if they had any beers on tap and was told they had a few of which a Lager, Ale and IPA, we asked for a Lager and were brought what was supposed to be a Lager but in fact was an IPA we asked the gentleman to confirm that what we got served was a Lager instead he brought us two new IPA’s which for my taste were just god awful. I ordered a burger, the patty was absolutely amazing as well as the tomato slice, brioche bun was decent, would say it was missing some of the sweetness, the cheese mediocre and there was something resembling caramelised onion but honestly it didn’t look nor taste anything like it. The fries were on the saltier side I would’ve liked to ask for extra salt than have more than what is enjoyable, fries were well cooked and tasted pretty good if you tapped them on the table to loose some of the salt. The napkin on which my cutlery was brought was dirty and the table wasn’t wiped as well. Our second server Laura was pretty good as she explained the situation with the beer and that they do not have Lager on tap only in bottles and she also asked us a few times as to how the food was, overall polite and good quality service. Based on the experience I would safely give the restaurant part of the establishment 2.5* and the butchery would get a 5* based on the meat on our table and stock in the fridges inside I would definitely go back and buy some meat to prepare on my home grill.

Such a great place! Very authentic,delicious food,the best hand cut chips and limoncelo drink. Staff is so friendly and know how to make theirs customers welcome. I can't wait to be back!

Amazing butcher and deli. The produce is so fresh and looks fabulous. The wine selection and the platter for 2 of cured meat, cheeses and bread is just incredible.The star was the Italian sausage roll... OMG!!!Will definitely be back!!!!!

The burger was disappointing. The pattie for the wild boar burger had an overpowering herb flavour that drowned out the meat. It was quite dry, I don't know what percentage of it was meat. The bun was also over grilled.

A fantastic authentic Italian deli come restaurant.Pork belly £10 is delicious, really tasty. It's worth the price due the quality. House wine for £21 is amazing.Steaks are hands down some of the best I've ever had and that includes really expensive steak restaurants. Cute authentic seating, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.Highly recommended and cosy! Will Def be back and can't speak highly enough of!
