My son started cherry oak September... All i can say is what a amazing supportive school!! Everything about this school is great he’s came on so so well and most importantly he’s happy.. the staff are great and the home school book used to communicate with his class teacher are so comforting as I know how he’s been on a daily basis.. this you don’t get in mainstream schools.. from the moment you walk in it feels like home everybody knows your child’s name as they make the effort to know each and every one. My son has eczema and suffers terribly with it they help apply his creams, piriton and use distraction techniques to help him with this..With not many special schools available for children it’s hard as it’s almost impossible to get a school that’s meets your children’s needs 100% but I’ve found that with cherry oak. Having 3 children with SEN all going to different special schools Out of all of them cherry oak is my favourite

People should know how it works in Birmingham. Culture of corruption thrives in this city. And SEN department of Birmingham city council is no exception. Here how it works. Birmingham council receives funds for children with SEN statements from government but then orders school governors and head teachers to mess up EHCPs to downgrade kids disabilities and reduce funding to the same level as with kids with no disabilities which is about £5000 per year when kids with SEN have budget around £19000 a year. The difference stays in the pockets. Birmingham city council is only council in UK which refuses to disclose expenses on SEN.In our case Head Teacher Julie Farrell and SENAR Jazz employed corrupted Educational Psychologist Louise Oland from Birmingham city council who states in her dodgy EP report that eating dirt from floor is good for fine motorics

This is school has been a god send for both of my children, who have a diagnosis of autism, both of which are on the sever end. After a bad start in a mainstream school, I finally have hope for both of my children. Before they started neither of them had any verbal skills and no understanding of anything, but after being at cherry oak my children have some verbal skills and a basic understand of somethings more my son than my daughter. This school has become family and I don't know what I would do with out them, with every worry and every struggle they have always been there and I couldn't thank them enough for all the hard work they put in to both of my children and all the support they have give me over the years. We love them all so very much.

My little boy now attends this school and has reached mile stones I thought would be very hard to achieve. My little boy will always be an inspiration to me, he's resilient, strong, and also very stubborn, but with the help off the amazing teachers and staff at CHERRYOAKS he has become more confident, and learned more in a month than I honestly thought would take a year. That have taught me to believe that whatever is put in front off my beautiful boy he can overcome! Exceptional people that deserve more appreciation than they get. Thank you all very much!!!! This is a fantastic school. My eldest child left a few years ago and the youngest is currently in Lower Key Stage 2. My boy is so happy going to school every day and this credit goes down to the staff. The teachers and support staff are amazing; they are so helpful and approachable. They clearly appear to have their pupil’s best interests at heart. This is evident in the progress that both of my children made. The SLT have been wonderful with the guidance and support they have given me over the years and I am truly happy with the education service they have provided.Thank you, to all the staff at Cherry Oak. Your help and support is much appreciated and it’s people like you who make a difference to society!

My son has a diagnosis of Autism . His in love with his school , Cherry Oak special school. His school has a dedicated group of teachers that get to know each and every one of their pupils and parents so well. It feels like a private school with no tuition fees. The entire school is like one big family. The school is small but strong like a bull. The welcome you receive from reception while visiting the school is warm. My daughter who is not on the spectrum says she would like to go to that school because the people their are so kind. The fact that the school has a family support, community paedtrician, school nurse and the physiotherapy is a credit. I have all the confidence in the world that my son will establish his own strong identify at this school, because of the strong dedication and support from the teachers. looking at the photo's in his Folder during the parents evening. It showed that Ridwaan was so happy and engaged in his activities whereas having the best time of his life! It’s truly wonderful.” God bless you all for the good work that your doing with our beautiful children.

This is one of the best schools in Birmingham for children with SEN. The staff go over and above to help children with their progress. My son was non verbal starting the school,in year 1 and now is talking all down to the hard work the speech and language and teachers done with him within school and parent liaison work with me, the In house speech and language, physiotherapist and support staff are very dedicated and child centred, all children are treated as individuals and the progress shows, they encourage parent and school working and it is a joint effort, results can be seen by work done by both parties. I wish this school had space to teach our children until the age of 25! You will never meet more dedicated friendly staff as you do in Cherry Oak. The children progress very well and communication with parents is outstanding, if you are not sure about anything you can ring the school and you will always be greeted by friendly staff who will happily reassure you and work with you to resolve your query.
