Pulfin Bog Nature Reserve

A lovely lake and nature reserve after a short walk along the riverbank.

Nice walk along river bank to the nature reserve peaceful and plenty of wildlife on the lake .

Calm. Relaxing. And peaceful! So that's a goodly trinity then! Path can get a bit narrow, slippery and muddy and there's a lot of stinging nettles, not that there's any other sort of nettles, ha. One area riverside had large amount of recyclable rubbish just dumped - who does this in a nature reserve??! Why does this trashing mindset even want to go and visit a nature reserve, especially one that's a walk away and in the Styx? Plastic bags of bottles and tin cans just left at riverside, maybe they came up river by boat because it would have been heavy to carry them all that long way. We were brought up on the mantra take your rubbish home with you...... honestly! Siiiigghh. Poor planet. Poor wildlife.

Ideal for nature watching and photography. Not a good place to take your kids for a barbecue.

We have been visiting Pulfin Bog Nature Reserve for years and armed with binoculars looked forward to spotting any wildlife.To our dismay we witnessed 4 outboards being driven at high speed causing distress to any creatures nearby! Rang 101 as environment agency said it had nothing to do with them.
