Visited to set up Gibson Les Paul as bridge had been inadvertently adjusted thus in my opinion affected the action. It was fitted with 09 gauge which are too small a gauge for the scale apparently. Anyway slight adjustment of the neck & bridge was all that was required & some direction on how to fit new strings. Simple & straightforward advice seen immediately & no charge incredible in this day & age but greatly appreciated. I’ve visited KGB on numerous occasions over the years for re fretting various guitars & set ups always hospitable & efficient fully recommended. Thanks

I’ve had an interesting Japanese modded guitar I bought on eBay maybe 15 years ago. Strange little guitar, but pretty unplayable. I took it to KGB, who fixed it up to be an extremely fun thing to play. The transformation was incredible. The team are great at the explaining what they’ve done, why, without the usual condescending or objectively opinionated stuff you’ve come to expect from guitar communities (mostly forums and a few bad retailers!).Their turn around estimate on jobs can sound lengthy as they’re usually busy, however I was delighted when I got a call to tell me mine was completed earlier than expected.I’ll now be taking guitars regularly for set ups to KGB as a standard.

I've been availing myself of the services of KGB guitar workshops in the Wirral for a loooong time. I have not written a review before but am moved to comment on the work done by luthier Alan most recently on two instruments, my 1970 Yamaha FG180 and my Korean- built 1972 Harmony Sovereign. The former was a simpler task, the replacement of tuning pegs, but the latter involved the complete recounting of the fixed bridge and relocation of the bridge saddle. The problem had occurred at the original creation of the guitar and indicated it had never been in tune with itself. The surgery was delicate and precise and the result, a new guitar of the highest quality and vintage. Thanks Al and thanks KGB. Without you there is nothing...

What can I say..these guys are brilliant. Repaired the broken headstock on my Gibson Les Paul..just superb, unreservedly recommended.

Update August 2017Since I posted my first review, the chaps at KGB have renovated my '78 Telecaster - repairing and improving the previously bodged wiring and re-fretting it. It now plays beautifully and sounds incredible. Don't hesitate..........KGB were recommended to me by a very experienced and knowledgeable Liverpool guitar teacher friend of mine. He assured me that the chaps who run it are the best in the region. After my first visit I have no doubt at all that he's right. KGB set up my 35 year old Telecaster beautifully and also gave me a detailed breakdown of all the ways that I might refine it in the future. Highly recommended.

Took in a pretty beat up 1959 Hofner President, after it was finished the transformation was incredible, they did a brilliant job, looks great, sounds great. Thanks again.

I was gifted a new acoustic guitar for Christmas that just didn't feel right so I took it to KGB for a set up. The guys where very honest and told me it only needed a few tweaks and not a full set up. After the alterations the guitar felt totally different and a dream to play. Just a few simple tweaks from professionals who know what they are doing made the difference at a very reasonable price. Thanks alot I will be back.

I took a Fender Meteora in for a finish repair after it had been damaged in transit. Candy Apple Red one of the hardest to match. KGB did a great job in the time frame they said and for a great price. Really pleased with the whole process thanks very much.
