The Welsh House
Today my family and I had an amazing lunch here at The Welsh House. A beautiful, flavoursome meal, well presented with a beautiful atmosphere. Everything Welsh including the music. The place was lovely and clean and I cannot recommend this place enough. We can’t wait to go again! Thank you owners and staff.

Artisan bread with butter £4.95 was literally 6 small pieces of same bread in cubes of total value 10p. Burger was dry. Service very amateur and had to ask for everything including sauces. Overall poor value for money.

The atmosphere is lovely, me and my friends have been a few times and have always sat outside for food and drinks. The staff are lovely and friendly which is why I am a regular customer. Food is great and the cocktails are even better. The espresso martinis are superb. The outdoor area is a lovely sun trap in neath so perfect for a sunny day. Live music on the weekends is always a good time so would definitely recommend going just for that.

I would love to post a positive review of this place following my first visit. I ordered The Welsh Breakfast, which was poor value for money due to the tiny portion I received. I was not expecting the lava bread, Welsh Rarebit and cockles to be muddled together on two tiny pieces of barely-toasted bread. My breakfast was lukewarm and none of the flavours particularly stood out. I'm not the first person to make these criticisms, so I sincerely hope the owners will take note and make changes, as I would like to visit again.Maybe I will try The Welsh Benedict next time, as at half the price, this seems closer to the value of the portions being served.

We had a party of around 20 for a work Christmas do. Rather than assigning the largest table in the building a single dedicated server, it took almost 30 minutes for a round of drinks to be made and brought to the table, even with prompting. The starters came out haphazardly, with some guests waiting 15 minutes longer than others. The same happened with the main course. We arrived at around 7pm and dessert finally arrived at almost 9:20pm.I don't know what happened, if it was just an off night for the staff there, but we were not the only dissatisfied customers, which is a shame, as the food was really really nice. The beef was lovely and the selection of wine was great.I may try this place again in a smaller group/alone but the first impression wasn't great.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this charming brunch spot on our first day visiting Neath after a football match, and we loved it! The food was absolutely incredible. The staff is top notch (especially our server Sam) super friendly to our large group and welcoming to our dog. Highly recommend asking for SAM when entering the restaurant. He made our experience extra special. Make sure to order a few pizzas, even if you are there for a Sunday roast. The pizza chef is from Napoli so the pizza is legit. Best we’ve had in wales!. They have many different versions and all are incredible. The Sunday roast was also delicious (and very reasonably priced). The atmosphere and decor inside was my favourite part. Do yourself a favour and check out this spot. I’m not typically a review writer, but everyone deserves to know about this special place. We just moved to Wales and live 40min from The Welsh House but we will definitely be back very soon! Highly recommend!!

We had a lovely romantic Monday evening, well cared for with informed help with our drink and meal choices. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Sam was very knowledgeable and Alberto cooked our steak to perfection, recommended.

Really disappointed, our food took an hour ( it wasn't busy there) I had steak and about five chips which cost £35 , poorly cooked steak. Please note I have my steak blue so not much cooking required, my friend asked for her steak medium., it was also blue , we called a waiter but was told I will be back but never did . I did read good reviews about this place, we were so disappointed. The standard of food was poor , would not recommendWe did speak to the manger before we left .
