Chaplins Fancy Dress

My girlfriend bought a costume in this shop and when we got home there were moth holes all along the sleeve. We returned to the shop immediately to ask for a refund. The shopkeeper's response was if you're not willing to accept a replacement

Terrible shop, dirty costumes and no refunds. Sizing on clothing is awful and inaccurate plus no way to try costumes on. The old man there is extremely rude and kept looking at my friends young daughter. Any other costume shop in Bristol is better than here

DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! I bought a costume and when I got home found moth holes along the sleeve! I went back to the shop to return it within half an hour. The shop owner was immediately defensive and when I asked for a refund instead of a replacement he accused me of foul play. I then mentioned the legal rights stated on the receipt and he shut me down and said if I say anything more he will fight me. I tried to explain the costume was also not as shown on the picture (which it wasn't). He wouldnt let me speak and said I will fight it to the very end. I felt very intimidated as I am a young girl who was polite throughout and obviously naive to my legal rights. I felt he took advantage of this fact. I've never experienced such hostile behaviour and it was very upsetting.

Do not buy here. I had worries about the size of a costume, the manager told me the height would be bang on but it might be loose which I could adjust. I then said to my girlfriend right in front of the manager “it’s ok if it doesn’t fit we’ll return it” which he clearly heard. He said nothing. Then I went to the cashier and said “please can I have a receipt with it”. They say nothing, charge me and give me a receipt. Immediately after purchasing I take the costume out of the bag and it’s huge. Height is no where near mine even though the manager said “bang on”. I immediately try to return it as it didn’t fit anything like described. And the manager refused, said they didn’t accept refunds, was incredibly rude and went back on all the things he’d said about the sizing, told me it was my fault for buying it. DO NOT BUY HERE

Terrible customer service. Late delivery, no apology and then denied a refund despite being their fault. Do not use.

Friendly and welcoming. I bought a few Harry Potter items for my boy. Great shop. 10 out of 10. Brilliant stuff.

A shop in one of the little streets in Weston. Not much parking nearby, so better to walk if you can.They normally have a wide variety of fancy dress and accessories; although when I went there, they had sold quite a lot and were waiting fir some new stock items.Very helpful staff, some good ideas and advice.

Do not go to this shop unless you are looking for terrible service and rude staff. Wanted to exchange an item we had just bought a few minutes earlier, but were told that no returns or exchanges were accepted, even if the item was clearly unopened/unused as had just left the store. Went again to get something else we wanted, asked once again if we could exchange the item for this and were told, very rudely, that we should make up our mind and take responsibility for our decision. Never again

This is the place to go for fancy dress. They have everything! Went for a 1920's outfit. The person there was very helpful and knowledgeable. I know where to go next time!
