Pizza Express was my favourite pizza house back in the 80s/90s. After that, it went downhill a lot in my view and the menu completely changed but after two recent visits to the Ipswich restaurant, I was so happy to find it's so much better. The classics are kind of back, not quite the same as they were but still really good. Simona served me on Tuesday 3/10 and if she reads this, she'll remember me, lovely waitress. I'll be back!

Outstanding Service Experience!We had the pleasure of being served by an exceptional waiter “Matt” on Monday night. His friendliness and genuine warmth immediately made us feel welcome. Despite being incredibly busy, he managed to handle everything with efficiency and a smile. His polite demeanor and hardworking attitude were truly impressive. It was clear that he was in complete control of the situation, ensuring every guest received a top-notch service. “Matt’s” dedication to his craft made our dining experience truly memorable. I can't wait to return and be served by him again! Kudos to a true professional!

Our daughter ordered a classic based pizza..an extra thin base pizza arrived..also the wrong peppers..spicy not sweet.. daughter is 5 months pregnant..server tried to convince our daughter her order was correct.. definitely wasn't..no offer to change the pizza or apologies.To keep the peace out daughter accepted that the service was poor.This was a party of 9 for our daughters birthday. We didn't order any deserts or drinks after our pizza even though that's the normal thing with family outings.Overall not happy, this pizza restaurant won't be one to return to .

Booked a table several weeks ago, for tomorrow in the evening, to tie in with a concert we were going to. Just this morning I received an email stating that my booking has been cancelled - seemed like a very generic, confirmation of my cancellation; however, I did not cancel my booking. I, therefore, assume that instead of contacting me to give me a reason as to why they are unable to take my booking, and potentially offering me another timeslot, they have cancelled it and let the system just send a generic email to let me know. So if you're planning something special, avoid pizza express as they may just cancel your booking the day before.

EDIT REPLY TO PE: We didn’t have an experience.. that is the problem! Your response and pathetic apology is not accepted. END OF REPLY. Restaurant cancelled our booking that we made weeks ago just the day before, with no reason or explanation as to why - tried to rebook but now there is nothing available. Restaurant clearly just gave our table away to another party, and sent a generic “booking cancelled” email instead of apologising. The date night we planned weeks ago is now ruined - so, thanks a lot! Maybe next time don’t screw over your loyal customers. Really disappointed and annoyed with this seriously shoddy level of customer service and disturbingly poor planning.

A little gem perfect place to celebrate graduation from University of Suffolk. Right on the waterfront. Wonderful staff. Better than average food quality and higher standards of preparation from the chef for a chain restaurant and good range of food. Perfect evening fast service. I've used pizza express for all my life as it has always been a reliable restaurant. The location of this one is great, being next to the marina adds a little something to it. Good pizza, nice dessert and a couple of beers, what's not to like?
