Canal Court Hotel

Guarantee excellent dining experience I just love the food in the Canal Court Hotel. Most recent meal was turkey and ham which came with three types of potato, seasonal vegetables and delicious gravy included. Portion sizes are definitely big and the vegetable soup is what I like to call Wedding Soup and is just so good. My family have had special birthday parties and family occasions here and all so well catered for. The staff are lovely and really know how to look after a guest and you will want to return!

Have travelled a lot and this has to be the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. Brilliant staff, great ambience,very comfortable and extremely well managed. Location second to none- shops, restaurants and cafes very accessible and the canal walk is a very nice bonus. Would absolutely recommend.

Beautiful hotel. Service in restaurant was slow to where we had to notify staff a few times and go get our own menus. We were the only ones there at that time. Breakfast was fair. £25 for two Breakfasts and as I wanted my husband to bring mine to the room, he was handed a polystyrene box with my cooked food in as plates weren't allowed in the room although my toast was on a plate. Disappointed by that but overall we had a great time.

I was there meeting up with family so didn't stay over but the hotel was a lovely experience. The Christmas decor was beautiful and the hotel in general so so nice. So much so that I am planning to stay over the next time which will hopefully be in January. I'm sure we won't be disappointed judging on my last visit. Highly recommend !

The location is within the centre of Newry directly across from the bus station so you cannot get much better.Looks very brutal from the outside but inside is fantastic and looks like an old school hotel and was very busy the entire time I was there.My room was huge and I had only booked a single room. The bad point however was it was right next to all the extractor fans for the different parts of the hotel and when I opened the window it was deafening until about 11pm and despite there being a temperature control in the room, there was no air conditioning so I had to open the windowIt's expensive but in fairness they have no competition and you do get what you pay for, I would certainly stay there again

Massively grateful to the staff at canal court who were extremely kind and helpful to us late at night when our car broke down near Newry a few days ago. Excellent service, room was lovely and the bar decor is gorgeous. Will definitely be back if we are ever in the area!

Needed a small break and a few people had recommended Newry and the Canal Court Hotel for a good deal,it was.. unfortunately the hotel itself is very tired and in need of a good update/refit,smelly hallways and wear and tear gave the place a run down feel compared to some other places I've been recently, even the next morning for breakfast was confusing trying to find the dining room,we even met another couple walking about exactly like us confused by the lay out,very strange,one thing we can't complain about is the good people of Newry,very welcoming everywhere we went, even though is was the last few weeks of the summer, would definitely go back to Newry but I'd give the Canal Court Hotel a miss next time.

We came to the Canal Court to celebrate my mother's 87th birthday and decided to bring her out for lunch, the chefs in the carvery were absolutely incredible so friendly and the food was Divine with great service. We were surprised when the chef brought my mother a piece of Pavlova with Happy birthday written in Chocolate. We hadn't ordered dessert but his and generosity of spirit was extremely moving for not only my mother but for my husband and I. There are good people in the world and the chefs and staff here have touched our hearts, we are profoundly touched by their kindness and generosity and deeply moved x thank you to the chefs, staff and team at the Canal Court you have make our year ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I've been going here for over 20 years. Never a bad meal. Always a friendly welcome. Very comfortable surroundings and great Guinness.

Very good hotel, great location, staff exceptional and super professional especially David who helped us with our room service. Nice bar to relax and have a pint or two. We had dinner in the Old Mill Restaurant, could not fault the quality of food or standard of service.
