The Grandstand Beefeater
Really great service from both Emily and Katrina. Emily was our initially waiter and was so attentive and friendly. She really went the extra mile with not only us, but all the customers she served while I was in restaurant. You can tell she really cares about her job. Was recommended the crunchy cheesecake and it would amazing. Fish and chips was great too. I would definitively recommend this beefeater.

The Grandstand Beefeater
Somewhat underwhelming. Bang for buck this just doesn't hit the mark.The food was ok, although the chicken was tough and small considering the cost. They seem to want to make up for lesser quality dishes by providing bottomless chips, this doesn't cut it. Side salad were also small, I can accept a small side salad but when that also contains wilted brown lettuce I'm afraid it's less acceptable, I struggle how a chef would let this go out. That said the flavours of the smothered chicken were great. The dish that seemed better was the fish and chips, it seemed a reasonable size with the only criticism being mushy peas that had been kept warm too long and had dried out somewhat. My daughters dish seemed a reasonable size and she enjoyed the flavours, although she mentioned some pasta was hard and uncooked, and it wasn't served with any parmesan cheese... When we asked for some we were served a tiny bowl of some mild cheese and charged 50p for it, that's something else I find mildly offensive as I believe a pasta dish should be served and you should be asked about additional cheese and ground black pepper.The layout of the restaurant is ok, nothing amazing but ok. Service was good and all but one member of staff were lovely and really helpful, a credit to the establishment.The big question, would I go again. Simply, no. The portions are too small and chips don't compensate for that. Prices are too high for the balance of portion size and the quality of the food served.

Bit disappointed with the service. Staff seemed a little miserable and not really bothered. Toilet seats were missing in the ladies toilets and had a strong smell of wee. Bins outside overflowing and the air con was on full blast. Food is expensive for average quality. I would recommend going to the local establaries for quality food at these sort of prices. Atmosphere was nice and chilled as there were plenty of people in dining. All in all we have tried it and unfortunately wont be returning.

The Grandstand Beefeater
We went here for breakfast and it was a lovely time. Great value big breakfast, with an array of choices to suit both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Children are also eligible for a free breakfast when they eat with an adult. I would definitely recommend them, and they are also disabled friendly with disabled parking and accessible ramps. Excellent.

Short on staff so waiting about 50 min for our food,, but the food was very good.. Clean and tidy around the restaurant & wc,good parking and lovely outside setting area.

Went for a lunchtime date after shopping around Newton Abbot.Decided on this Beefeater restaurant The Grandstand. We arrived just after midday and taken to a table.We were offered drinks and given the lunchtime menu.I chose the Steak Sandwich and partner the Chicken Open Sandwich + a starter each.The drinks arrived following not to long after by our starters.I had the Crispy chicken wings with chilli sauce as the blue cheese sauce wasn't available. My partner had the Cauliflower balls.Then not long after we finished our mains arrived. We both had thick chips instead of the skinny fries.Both were very tasty meals and plenty of it for a lunch.The staff were very friendly and round 30 minutes of being there the restaurant filled up.All in £29 for food and drinks and didn't want to eat that evening.No photos as forget to take some.

Turned up came a long way. The man on the desk could see we had a wheelchair. He said no seats there was loads and we offered to sit in the bar. He wouldn’t allow it. We will never go here again and will be telling everyone of our awful experience and how bad the man was that didn’t want to seat us.

This is an honest review of the meal experience I had at the Grandstand Newton Abbot.The meal was over all very nice, well cooked meat with lots of flavour.The corn on the cob and coleslaw is rubbish . The corn is watery a has no taste at all and the coleslaw tastes like its been open in the fridge for a week.The waiting staff are attentive and polite.The kitchen staff, although they can cook a good meal , spend time on their phones and have sound system in the kitchen which is playing rap music.Everyone in the restaurant can hear it very clearly.This wouldn't be so annoying if there wasnt already other music playing over head.The restaurant could do with a decent manager to straighten the place out.Over all a good meal at a reasonable price Good for family meals.
