Keppel’s Column
Quite an impressive structure that needs some maintenance before it starts falling down. The area around the column is covered in dog mess, it's everywhere. Can't believe dog owners don't clean up after their pets. Grass is well overgrown, more local heritage that will eventually disappear. Sad.

Keppel’s Column
Currently under restoration, this is a monument built by the owners of Wentworth Woodhouse, which is visible from here. It marked the edge of their estate. Once restored, it will be open to the public and I think it will be worth the climb for the good views over South Yorkshire. It is maintained by Rotherham Council. Parking could be a problem as the monument is alongside a small residential cul de sac.

Keppel’s Column
Located just beside a housing estate, Keppel's Column stand's solitary on a hillside. As part of a sightseeing walk this would be a nice addition with plenty of woodland and bridleways around. Parking was easy, just avoiding driveways really but an anti motorbike gate and a turnstile impede access to the base for prams or wheelchairs

Rotherham Council have earned many Kudos by renovating this prominent and well known landmark.Many thanks to Christine for the invite to visit this epic building before the public opening and for the enormous task that she's undertaken.Hopefully the surrounding grounds will be tidied up for next yearThe stone masons have done an absolutely cracking job with the repairs and should rightly be proud of their work.
