On Friday March 26, I attended the annual dinner of The Old Stationers Association, which was held in yet another 17th century building – Stationers Hall in the City of London. Stationers Hall dates back to 1606, but was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666. The present Stationers Hall was therefore rebuilt in 1673 and is today the headquarters of The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers, which began in 1403 and which received its Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1557. The dinner was held in the largest and grandest room in Stationers Hall, with oak floors and stained glass windows depicting Shakespeare and King Edward IV.

It’s a beautiful venue for weddings, corporate events, etc. They have several rooms and halls as well as a leafy little courtyard for outdoor drinks reception and BBQ parties. Their catering is first class with several menus to choose from and good quality food and service.

Location is really nice for a corporate or private event, large spaces, stunning architecture, very close to transport links and centrally located - a stone's throw from St Paul's Cathedral.

Lovely quirky hall tucked away inside the city of London. Food was great! Service was great! The only downside is the very steep stairs into the ballroom and there wasn't enough of the food! Left feeling very hungry

Ancient worshipful company. Marvelous old building which can be hired for functions. Popular for weddings apparently. Like all the worshipful companies its original function of acting as a trade guild has faded into history but it still has a ceremonial role in the City of London and its current membership keeps itself relevant with charitable work and by hosting interesting discussions on topical subjects of interest in the information economy. An interesting fact is that Copyright as a legal construct was first invented in the building centuries ago.

I visited on an open day in September 2017. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and proud to show the history of the guild and the building. I found it extremely interesting, and a hidden slice of London history.

Attended an evening event here recently. Weather was perfect and we were able to have pre-prandial drinks outside in a delightful courtyard, with jazz quartet accompaniment, as well as enjoying the beautiful and historic interior dining room. The combination of the two made for a highly memorable evening. Go if you get the chance, you won't regret it.

Was lucky to stumble on the open house event a few weeks ago which gave us access to this beautiful old Guildhall. I have walked round the outside a number of times but never been inside. We given access to the main rooms and spoke to members of the guild who were passionate to impart the history of the guild and building. Beautiful building and fascinating story. It was a shame that some mindless moron decided to through a brick through the stained glass window.
