Amazing place, every time I come to Southend, I stay here. The rooms are stylish, clean and very welcoming. From entering, you are looked after by Lauren or Kevin. Thank you for welcoming me again and see you soon.

The room was very good. When I booked the ad said bed & breakfast but there was no breakfast so very disappointed, may not book again plus no DVD when it was also advertised just outside the main door. Also was quite away from southend.

Lovely clean room and very friendly owners. Would definitely stay here again if I needed to stay in Southend. Couldn't have been happier and we had plenty of space in our room for the two of us. Excellent place to stay 10 out of 10! A lovely selection for breakfast provided as well courtesy of the new owners.

Maybe just me but here are my views after staying in The Crown GF sea view roomWiFi did not work all weekend. Mark did try to help but did not work on 2 x iPhones, iPad & laptop, but Mark said it was working on his android. If you need to park have to be lucky to get a place as after we got there and went out had to drive around for 45mns to get a space near.No milk or tea bags first nightHeating came on late and room was roasting could not turn off radiator so had to contact the owner to turn off heatingTake toiletries if staying more then one night as one little shampoo and shower gel bottle between 2.TV. Very smallNo fridgeNoisy can hear almost every footstep from rooms above and other guests talkingGood pointsLovely big clean roomLovely viewsBreakfast at Toby very goodNice welcomeTea & Coffee facilitiesBottles of waterBiscuit each and rockWe stayed end of August 2018We know they have just taken the hotel over so hopefully can sort out the issues as such a lovely area.Good luck

Found the prices difficult to fathom on the website and didn't realise it was a booking online not a payment and had to pay full price on arrival plus extra for my partner which I hadn't anticipated. The room was nice and comfortable though but the heating wouldn't turn off overnight which made it very hot.

Great atmosphere. I can highly recommend it. Attention to detail. Very friendly people. Make you feel at home.will come again.most important, this is the quite side of south end on sea, so if your looking for a bit of peace and quite, you can't go wrongupdate:spent five nights, as my christmas retreat, and loved it . even though it was a bit cold, I was given room 6, which has a nice scenic view.so I didn't feel the need to go out much.i intend to spend all my breaks next year 2015, in this area.so watch this space for reviews of restaurants, as well as, facilities in the area.

TERRIBLE PLACE DO NOT GO THERE. Owner came into my room unauthorized when I was out and left door unlocked with my valuables inside. Then owner stole from me by taking £15 from my credit card unauthorized. Abusive and rude when queried this with him and refused to return it.Bed had dips and springs in it and not fit to be slept in. Cigarette butts overflowing in ashtray on balcony and stagnant dirty water in bucket on balcony.BE WARNED DO NOT STAY THERE - one star for location

On arrival at The Bay Hotel I was warmly greeted and welcomed by Lauren Babic the Hotel manager. She is such a lovely lady and looks after your every need. The Bay Hotel is spotlessly clean and immaculate throughout. Attention has been given to detail and I had a wonderful nights sleep on a comfortable mattress. My room was delightful with a relaxing garden view. I will definitely be visiting the hotel again in the future. Thank you Lauren.

Welcome wasn't brilliant no smile or hello, we were allowed to leave our bags in the room as we were early and went for a walk. Once we got back we found the room dusty on ledges and the light fitting in the bedroom was full of cobwebs as were the walls in the bathroom, what looked like sauce on the curtains, also coffee splashed up the side of the built in wardrobe. At breakfast wasn't greeted with a smile or morning. Just tea or coffee. A tip is to offer semi skimmed milk as not many these days drink full fat. No garden view as stated just the conservatory roof, as we were above the kitchen this was quite noisy. Last thing as the room backs onto the back of other houses a blind or net at the window could be added to give some privacy as we could be seen by the man sitting opposite on his fire escape.
