Do not go to this surgery. Having been a patient at the surgery since I was born they have really gone downhill. My most recent experience with them is that they failed to tell me I had to have a review for my medication that I've been on for years even though they have all the necessary information (phone number, email and address to contact me) They have left me for 8 days now without any medication. I wouldnt give them 1 star. They do not take mental illness seriously and just put you on a waiting list that never get back in touch with you. Fair to say I'm changing surgerys asap.

If you actually get to see the doctors/nurses, they are friendly and helpful. Getting an appointment is a completely different story. After 121 rings to get through this morning to have my 4yr old seen, we’ve been told to go to Lumley Surgery tomorrow afternoon as there are no appointments at Bridge End today - told this was due to ‘staff training’. I appreciate the need for staff training, but I imagine Mondays and Fridays are usually the busiest days for the surgery because of the weekend. Would it not be more appropriate for training to be arranged on a different day? The receptionist also asked if my daughter had a chest infection - how am I meant to know that? That’s why I’m phoning. I do understand services are stretched and I really feel for NHS staff but this surgery does anything it can to not see its patients.

have to wait for ages to get through to get an appointment. the doctors don't listen to you when you get one. you never see the same doctor so none of them know you so have to go through everything everytime. looking for a better doctor now.

If you're considering registering here..dont...run . If our family only had one issue with this place then I would not be writing this review. When you ring up the receptionist is rude and unhelpful. I understand they probably get loads of calls throughout the day. But if you're dealing with members of the public who sometimes are nervous or reluctant to speak to a doctor even with serious medical issues these people are the face and voice they are greeted with. Then theres the fact that my partner went in with an ear infection, which my partner described as a painful experience during the examination.Ill be honest, when he handled the equipment he looked confused as if he didnt know what he was doing, which as you can imagine was extremely comforting. I went in with neck pain. Again not a great experience was told to make an appointment with the physio and then was phoned a day later to be told I was not going to get an appoinment because I wasnt eligable. Finally we have been trying to get my daughter to have her 8 week immunisations only to be fobbed off because of the bank holidays and even when the health visitor phoned they refused to get her in for an early appointment. Our helth visitor says they usually just book them in but they were being especially awkward. To make it clear I have only been with this GP for 4 months and it has been 1 bad experience after anotherI am now changing surgery as I have no confidence in any member of staff that work here.I am writing this so that if anybody reads it then their time will not be wasted by registering here.

Sadly I've recently been forced to move surgery due to never being able to get an appointment. You can only book an appointment for the day and must ring at 8:00am that morning. By the time you manage to get through after being stuck in a queue or constantly getting the engaged tone, all of the appointments are gone for the day.As someone who has to work long hours it's impossible to get an appointment unless it's an emergency and even then it's sometimes better to go to Gateshead A&E.The Doctors themselves are great (When you get a chance to see them), however due to the out of date booking system I can no longer use this practice. I find it unreasonable to get people who are employed to ring at 8AM to book an appointment and for them to have to ring ahead that morning informing work they are going to be late in. If you could book 1 or 2 days in advance the practice would be far better.

I've never in my life as an chronic asthmatic who has just recently been in hospital with my condition. Been refused my ventolin as my inhaler has run out. Its the weekend so I'm left vulnerable. 48 hours wait.. as people who have the condition know we dnt have 48 hours when we get breathless.. so il end up back in hospital..wasting an ambulance..absolutely disgusting

I turned up at the doctors at 1245 on a Thursday as I suspected I had a UTI as I also had a catheta from a recent operation no bag just a valve. I ssked the receptionist if I could see a nurse for a urine test to confirm if I had one or not I was informed that it was training afternoon from 1pm and no one was available. That was without checking her computer. I left and event to the pharmacy around the corner where they rang 111 and I was seen by durham hospital within 2 hours confirming I did have a UTI I was disgusted that I wasn't even seen but sent away

Awful experience. Always impossible to get through on the phone. I received a call which I couldn’t answer, when I called back I waited on hold for half an hour before the call was answered for it to instantly be put down by the receptionist. I then called back and waiting a further 45 minutes until I went to the practice itself to see that the receptionist was ignoring the phone and when I told them about what had happened not even an apology just asked why I had called. Wouldn’t recommend this practice to anyone absolutely atrocious.

These are an absolute waste of time! The trouble I’ve had over the years, waited 18 months to have an aneurysm diagnosed and even then i had to ask to see a neurologist!Latest issue went for an ex ray Chester Le Street hospital, about 10 weeks ago, i was told that I had a fracture, i called the Drs about a week after, was told by the receptionist the results were with the dr ,This was a Tuesday, I asked if i should call again tomorrow was told they wouldn’t have them then, so i said should I call Friday, to which the receptionist replied “if you want “Absolutely disgusting!

Mrs tried multiple times to get an appointment for them to always miraculously have some reason or other to not give one. It took ringing 111 and them informing us there is in fact a lot free appointments within the day and them informing the staff and logging and internal complaint that she got one. She phoned this morning regarding heart palpitations and a missed appointment for someone calling her regarding it. The receptionist told her 'It cannot be that bad if you're talking to me' ring us back at 8am' despite confirming she should have had a call 45 mins earlier specifically for this. Joke of a place.
