Cotswold Outdoor Reading

Love this cotswold store. Had been a while since I had been there. There are lots of great quality coats that we went through to find my partner an actual waterproof coat and not the cheap things at primark. The guy behind the counter was an absolute laugh, and he came up to me, and we had a chat about things. I also completely forgot you can get 15% certain items if you are a National Trust member, which was a nice suprise. Everything is quite pricey in there but that's because it's good quality and reliable. My favourite bit of the store is the walking boot section where there is so much choice, and they even have this little mountain path to try out the boots on which is pretty neat. I rarely come here, but that's because their stuff lasts for years. But I always come here for outdoor gear. The only gripe I could have is that parking outside can be a bit difficult, but that's not their fault.

Personable and knowledgeable service. Good range of products. Seems to be a really well run store staffed by people passionate about the outdoors. Went in to buy some boots and they have a fancy measuring machine to ensure fit and suitability. Really good experience compared to another store in the centre.

.Cotswold Camping has a great range of clothing and equipment for camping, running, walking, hiking. Main brands are stocked. Also a great range of Garmin watches (I got my current Fenix from here and was the only shop that stocked it at the time). Be careful though with brands like Rab and Jack Wolfskin your credit card will be smoking when you leave. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. Recommended.Tip: whilst you can sometimes get parked outside the shop in the little lay by thing it’s better to park in Morrisons or Aldi car park - trust me.

Fantastic shop, it’s massive, so much to chose from. Great service. Went in to look for walking trainers and came out with a new pair, staff member was great, very polite in the shoe section, I was a bit fussy but he took his time and sold me great pair of walking trainers, highly recommend.

Very helpful staff. Didn't have what I wanted no ladies wax cotton jackets in stock and no Ladies size 3 footwear only childrens.

Having discovered our local Cotswold Outdoor had closed. My husband I went to the Reading shop, and my goodness we were glad we went. The assistant that served my husband was a wealth of knowledge and was patient serving him. He went back to basics and measured his feet and knew exactly which walking boots would be suitable for his needs. As a result he actually managed to buy some. Tom the assistant gave him plenty of advice and insisted he walked around the shop to ensure he was happy with them.

Well trained well knowledgeable staff who actually get out and walk / do activities so guidance is genuine! Machines to measure feet, good array of outdoor wear, accessories, walking shoes and boots. If this is what you need then pay a visit.

I really like Cotswold Outdoor, but on my visit, I was returning some boots I'd had to purchase online as they weren't in stock in the shop. I was questioned about the price of them. That is, the conversation from the salesperson was on why someone would buy an expensive boot (which is sold at the shop)! Quality clearly not understood by the salesperson, and I felt like I had to justify my reasons for purchasing (although I was returning as they didn't fit). Purchase shaming! Not what I'd expect from a store. I guess I'll more likely buy online or go to a different store if that's the service I receive at the Reading store.

I might gone in wrong day but there were only few staffs may be they were in holiday, but the staff were kind and helpful bought my self nice climbing shoes they even checked if the shoes were in discount obviously I had to asked but he checked that’s more important well you can go here to buy yourself trekking tools…
