The Quays Hotel Sheffield

Stayed over here for a night with the other half after visiting Sheffield for a big night out! Our room had a balcony and over looked the quay straight in front, but unfortunately it was right on the end of the hotel situated next to all the big air conditioning units which were buzzing all night, even stumbling in drunk they still annoyed us as they were loud! I understand this can’t be helped however and apart from that everything was good. Breakfast was help your self buffet style and it was all hot. The location is good and central. They also have a swimming pool and mini leisure centre, we didn’t use those facilities though. I would recommend and book again if staying in Sheffield.

The hotel was nice and clean. Lovely location overlooking the river. Bathroom could of done with some modernisation as it was freezing cold due to the windows but it was a great stay.

Have stayed here a few times purely for the location but not again. Na room on the second floor but the music from the party on the ground floor is way too loud, even after asking to turn it down. I don’t want to spoil the party just get some sleep as here for swimming. Wi-Fi terrible.

Staff poor, very slow with serving drinks and ultra slow with evening meals. 2 hours to eat 2 course meals due to waiting for meals to be served.There were very few people in the restaurant so should have been better.Room was okay, breakfast was good.Shame because the hotel is in a good position for walking into the city.

On arrival we were told we had to pay a £50 deposit, which is not stated anywhere in the booking process. It takes 3-5 days to be returned to you after the maid has checked the room... You'll pay £17 for breakfast and your given the bare minimum of what could be classed as a full English breakfast. Beds were quite hard and rooms don't have Aircon. If it was more reasonably price id be less annoyed but I pay less and get better results in London.

Comfortable rooms. We had a pair of king-size beds. The room had good space and did not feel cramped. The room was very hot when we arrived. There is no window to open. Only a door to the balcony did not want to leave a door open all night. Balcony had a great view of the Quay side and barges. Good parking, free for Blue badge holder and right by the main door. Good size pool and kids welcome to use it till 8pm (1 adult per 2 kids). Breakfast was standard fare but good choice and not included in the price. Check out was very civilised as we did not need to leave till 11am. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Room and bathroom were a bit worn/tired. The extractor fan was not working, so the bathroom was damp. Could have done with a refresh. Most of the town centre attractions are only a 10 minute walk.

Terrible service. We were a large group at the restaurant and so called in advance to place our order. Despite several times checking that we'd ordered 3 fish and chips, only 1 came out. It took 2 hours for them to tell us that they had ran out of fish and chips and that we'd have to order something else. I ordered a burger instead and had to wait longer for that. When it came to paying for the meal, I asked for a refund but was told that this was not possible. Only a discount was offered (which made little difference as I was on expenses). The waiting staff were lovely. However, a 2 hour wait to pay full price for the food I never got - unacceptable and a lack of basic concern for customer experience. I shall be sharing on social media as well as with the company that reserved the hotel for us.

Hotel is very good. Decent breakfast. Staff are very friendly and helpful and efficient. A 15 minute walk from rail station. Enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the evenings in the sun with a g and t and tea

It's ok. It's very expensive for a hotel that looks and feels like it needs modernising. Its on a main ring road so very noisy, even through the night. Parking is limited given the size of the hotel. The room was ok, just tired looking especially the bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable but the pillows flimsy and small.
