Summers FISH AND CHIPS and Chinese Takeaway

Great value cod and chips and very large portions.Not tried any Chinese dishes, but it appears popular and again the prices are very reasonable.

Always friendly and helpful. Excellent, reasonably priced fish & chips. Chinese items available too.A few years on from that review - they are just as good - and very helpful to us as we now have difficulty in walking to the shop.

This fish and chip shop is in the heart of somerstown in Portsmouth. It isn't the freshest looking shop. But what you do get there is some great tasting food. They do the traditional fish and chips but they also do a range of Chinese dishes. Everything that I've had from there has always been a very nice. And it is worth pointing out that the price is very reasonable as well. They would have got 5 stars but if you order to deliver it can take an exceptionally long time to arrive.

This takeaway should stick to selling fish and chips only as they are very good as for their Chinese takeaway side it's the worst food I've ever tasted.The ribs very old and dry with a thin bbq sauce over the top, and the chicken was not fresh and very plastic, mixed fried rice had a strange texture.

Always polite food is ready quick and the chips are by far the best around based on all the Chinese takeaways I’ve had in my area

Just had my delivery of large chicken curry sausages and large chips, definitely the worst meal I have ever eaten the chips were really greasy and soggy, the curry sauce was so thin was like water and tasted of nothing the chicken was soggy and again tasteless and the sausages were burnt and had hard bits of gristle inside them will never order from them again

Very nice fish and chips its nice to have abit of fish that not swimming in fat . The batter was nice the food was hot as well

I swear by this chip shop. The food is sooooo nice from my own experiences anyway. I love this place so much. If I ever fancy a chippy the first place I'll come to is this one. Definitely recommend.

If this review could be 0 stars it would be, Had food on two occasions from here:First time: I wasn't fully impressed, I had chips with curry sauce, chips were stodgy and curry sauce was re-heated prior to serving in the microwave from earlier on in the week I'm assuming by the taste.Second time: Definitely not impressed! I had a Chinese with a friend and never before have we had a Chinese which tasted and smelt so disgusting! None of the food was cooked properly, what should have been black bean sauce just tasted and looked like Bisto! gravy, chicken balls had the same batter as you would have on battered fish and even tasted like fish rather than chicken !*!*CROSS CONTAMINATION!*!*, the sweet and sour sauce tasted of just vinegar and literally smelled of dirty socks, this was also re-heated like the curry sauce and by the taste, had clearly been pre-made around a week in advance and the prawn crackers were stale, they had clearly been cooked earlier on in the day, why I don't know, when it takes two seconds to cook them.I could continue to go on about the food here, the only good thing is that it was actually ready on time, but I'd rather wait and have nice food than it be rushed and have pre-cooked/made food which has been re-heated and tastes horrible.Please save your money and DO NOT order from here, especially if you need to adhere to any allergen guidelines.

Just had chicken chow mien, the noodles were really thin, onions were cold and raw. Would not recommend.
