Lovely place for a stroll amongst the trees and to see the red squirrels. The only downsides are that the place is basically planted in a bog. So wear suitable footwear. We went with hiking boots, but in places, wellingtons would have been a better bet. Also, the café was v.busy, as it was a nice sunny day, so there was a 50-minute wait for hot food, but a lot of the cold food had already sold out! So we were kinda stuck betwixt a rock n a hard place. Thankfully they refilled our tea pot, so at least we got to drink 5 cups of tea .. each!

A lovely spot and amazing to see plenty of red squirrels, dispite damp conditions, and a variety of small birds. We also had a nice wander in the grounds afterwards. The food choice in the cafe seemed very basic and pricey, so we decided to eat elsewhere, though it was nice that there was a cafe if in urgent need of a cuppa or somesuch. Toilets and a decent amount of parking were also available.

A place we had wanted to vist for some time, we booked our tickets on line, so we could be guaranteed a trip into the red squirrel enclosure, the lady on the desk was very friendly and helpful, telling us about the youngest squirrels, there are plenty of walks, the range of different trees is amazing, most are named a trip to the lake is a must, plenty of places to sit as well, dogs are welcome but can only go of lead in certain areas all in all a great place for walk and a pinic, there is a small cafe and toilet facilities.

This is an amazing place, full of mystery and hidden gems whatever time of year. From Spring blossoms, Summer fields of flowers, Autumn colours and fungi. Then there's the Red Squirrels! Boy what a treat as Eric the male scuttles round your feet in search of hazelnuts! Not to be missed! Would advise booking a slot to see the Squirrels during peak times.

Lovely place for a good walk. It was very hot the day we went but the red squirrels were still active as their enclosure was shaded. Cafe is lovely and a good selection of food and drinks available . The lake was lovely to walk around but could do with more benches in the shadier spots. The only downside was the gift shop. Poor selection available really for a tourist attraction

A fantastic green space with plenty to explore. So many spring flowers and bulbs. Dogs are welcome except for the Squirrel enclosure but there are plenty of water bowls dotted about and areas marked to let them off their leads. There are only 3 squirrels at the moment so you may not see them but you can visit as often as you like. There is a gravel path with grass paths shooting off so walking boots are not necessary.
