When we spontaneously started planning our elopement the stars really aligned for us again and again, pretty much starting with Jo.The lead-up to the day was wonderful, and unexpected. Guiding us to find further depth in our relationship.The day itself, was beautiful, and the space was held by Jo so perfectly. The words, the process, the atmosphere, all designed especially for us. We are Christian, Stefanie and Anton from Germany and we exchanged vows on our 5th anniversary on September 9th, 2022.Our originally booked celebrant canceled us 4 weeks before our wedding due to illness. She immediately recommended Jo to us as our first choice and we have not regretted the decision.Jo got in touch with us straight away and we got to know each other via Skype. From our stories via Skype and a questionnaire, she wrote a wonderful, honest, authentic ceremony that was true for us. She embellished our marriage vows with appropriate poems and sayings. Our son also received a blessing from her with fresh spring water, which Jo collected himself in the morning. She found the perfect words to celebrate and seal our love.The symbols and spirituality she brought to the ceremony was a beautiful gift. Words cannot express the deep gratitude that both me and my husband have for Jo. We last minute needed an officiant because our friend who was supposed to marry us couldn’t make it, and the stars aligned and we were able to connect with Jo.From our first video meeting, I knew she would be the perfect fit. She truly wanted to spend as much time getting to know me and my husband together as a couple, and separately, so she could put together such a thoughtful and beautiful ceremony for us both.We eloped in the Isle of Skye in Scotland and she thoughtfully worked through all of these tiny details that made our day unforgettable. She is also such a beautiful person inside and out and we are so lucky to have her as a part of our special day.If you are looking for an officiant for your ceremony, who is thoughtful and intentional, who leads the way of your ceremony while keeping you and your partner at the core of it all, then Jo is the perfect fit. Jo is simply wonderful! She made the whole process of planning our elopment and handfasting simple and easy, creating the stress free day that we wanted. Jo was the most amazing minister from start to finish for our wedding. Her interfaith approach was perfect for melding my Quaker beliefs with my husband's atheism. The ceremony was exactly what we had both been hoping for.We kept the Quaker tradition of allowing any guest the space to say anything they felt moved to say during the ceremony, which felt like a big ask of a minister: neither she nor we had any idea what anyone was going to say! Jo took it all in her stride though and ran the ceremony with a beautiful and gentle touch.Amazingly though, the perfect wedding is not why I would recommend Jo to any other couples who were getting married. I think the thing that really made her stand out, is the quality of pastoral care that she gave to both myself and my husband during the wedding planning process. She wasn't concerned just with the ceremony, but with our wellbeing and the wellbeing of our relationship. I can honestly say that our marriage is better and stronger because of Jo's work.She met us not only as a couple, but as individuals, and poured so much love and care into her work with us, providing the spiritual guidance and counseling that we each needed in order to be ready for marriage. The impact of that has been felt every day since and I am forever grateful.

Where do we start with Jo? This lady is extraordinary! From our very first online meeting we knew we had made the right choice. Her caring, her wisdom, her empathy and personal involvement were always apparent. She guided us and supported us through the whole process and produced a tailor made ceremony which was totally personal to us. At all times, from the very beginning to the day after our wedding day, she exuded love and care. She was such an integral part of our day. My husband and I did our 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal with Jo and I cannot recommend her enough! She listened so carefully to our love story and what we wanted to have for our day and she was able to create something purely magical. She was our guide where we felt like we didn't know what we were doing, and she wove together the details and themes of our life together and created the perfect ceremony. She felt like an old friend and was so easy and fun to work with. The symbols and spirituality she brought to our vow renewal has been a beautiful gift and we are so grateful to have found her!

Jo was recommended to us as a humanist/celebrant for a personal commitment ceremony. We came to her last minute, with less than a week to spare. She put together the most beautiful ceremony! She had many suggestions on things we could do, recommended a few spots where it would be more secluded/private and intimate, and gave us ideas for poems and saying to include in our ceremony. During the actual ceremony, she had a few (amazing) surprises, and her approach was intimate, memorable, and exactly what we hoped for when we planned an elopement". Jo is a wonderful person. She was recommended to us to be our minister for our elopement wedding. She took the time to talk to us a few times before our wedding to get to knows us and create a ceremony that represented us.
