Glad to finally be out of here tbh - but definitely better than a lot of the alternatives in the area.In the summer (and tbh even spring/autumn) it gets unbearably hot in the rooms, and the windows can barely open so theres no chance of breeze whatsoever.Rooms are quite small, but about expected for student accom.Had 2 completely different kitchens in my time here, one was very spacious and the other was very cramped. Lottery i guess.Good Internet speed (would recommend an ethernet cable - wifi could occasionally become unreliable)Decent shower, rest of bathroom leaves a lot to desire but at least its not shared bathrooms (they get incredibly dusty very quickly, would go home for a week and come back to a thick layer of dust over the entire bathroom)Staff very hit or miss, half act like they're annoyed youre trying to get help from them and the other half are actually nice helpful people.Fire alarm goes off at least once a week (very often more). If theres ever a real fire at this place i think about 5 people will actually evacuate from the alarm.Laundry room is a scam (over £5 for a wash and dry, daylight robbery) but theres a fairly easy workaround that lets you not have to pay to start the machine which most people use anyway.Pretty much the biggest + of this place is the short distance to the unis, but you could say that about pretty much of the accommodations around the area

Decently-priced room, looks clean upon arrival. Hate the idea that Bluetooth is now used to unlock all the doors, what if I want to leave without my phone? REALLY BAD flashing bathroom light (having to shower and use the bathroom with the light switched off) when I arrived… took 2 weeks to resolve. Overall though, friendly staff and better than any the on-campus unite accom I’ve stayed at.

Maintenance is so bad! Complained about my bathroom light not working since moving in, had 7 people come look at it and no one had been able to fix it I’ve been here over a month, having to do everything in the pitch black! Flat is SO HOT It’s almost unliveable! Did a group booking and they kept just putting random people with us! Bedrooms are mouldy and don’t get sorted! Maintenance will come in at 9am, clueless and ask about a complaint u never made! The noise from outside is ridiculous and all I can hear from my room is beeping like I am in a hospital bed 24/7 asked them to turn the noise off, nothing has been done. Lift is always broken and u gotta wait about 20 mins for it! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone ever, such a waste of money for the price we pay it’s disgusting.

I applied for maintenance several times, but no one helped to repair it every time. How bad is the management here? Can you help solve the problem for customers?

When we moved in my flat mate had no curtains, none of us had bins, none of our kitchen appliances worked, and my shower has no hot water. Most of these issues have only just been resolved, 2 weeks after we moved in. I am still waiting for hot water, have been having freezing showers for 2 weeks despite reporting the problem 5 times and threatening to withhold rent. Other reviews are right - the rooms are boiling and windows barely open. Considering what we are paying all four of us in the flat are really disappointed with the place and annoyed at lack of action when it comes to our problems.

Moved into the accommodation for my final year university. Been happy with general facilities and the rooms. Unfortunately it has been 4 days ongoing where we are unable to connect to WiFi with maintenance being extremely slow to address the issue. A rough start to the academic year as being able to do online uni work in the accommodation is not possible.

People actually pay to stay here? To give this place one star is very generous! Here for work and apart from the location being great for the city centre it’s quite frankly a horrendous place.Where do you start? The rooms are not cleaned properly on arrival. I hey may have hoovered but do not hoover where they cannot see. Considering someones potentially stayed here for a year there should be a deep clean on departure. We arrived in middle of heatwave, no support from the reception team as to helping cool down.A broken fridge fridge freezer, which apparently they know about but haven’t bothered to remove.Floor in kitchen was like someone had poured chip fat all over it. 2 broken stools and a mountain or dirt under the sofas including perishable food and receipts from 6 months ago.Mattresses in rooms are probably comparable to a mortuary block. Though given the heat a mortuary block would probably be better!Bathroom is poor with missing shelves, a poor electric shower and curious stains everywhere. The decor in the whole flat is poor also. The noise from other blocks can be loud and no-one cares. The lifts look like they’re cleaned maybe once a week. The laundry is a rip off and a confusing system. If you dare to ask reception for anything, you get one of three responses: no, i don’t know or I don’t work here. Which is strange as for someone who doesn’t work there they are there daily.

The price isn't bad given the location. Perfect distance to uni, and all the good venues and shops. Rooms are a decent size and my flatmates were good.It goes rapidly downhill from there. The flat wasn't properly cleaned when we moved in. Surfaces were dirty (not encouraging given we were coming out of the pandemic at the time) and the whole place had a stink of sweat that took about a week to air out. One of my flatmates' toilets was already broken when she arrived. The windows are so filthy you can't see out of them properly in places. The fire alarms go off every other day. It happens, it's fine. It the constant breaking that annoyed me. Several times now the alarms have had hour-long fits where they go off and on every few minutes. When I've gone down to reception to ask what's going on I usually get a shrug and a 'I don't know'. Helpful. The laundry services are the worst thing about Jennens. Literally daylight robbery. Laundry is an essential service. £5 for a wash and dry is ridiculous given this is student accomodation.Half of the machines don't acutally work. They leak so the laundry room is left in a mess. Dryers have been known to not actually dry, so you spend £2 on a 50 minute cycle just to have damp clothes at the end of it.Literally every person I've spoken to here at Jennens has complained about the washing machines, yet they've been that way the entire time I've been here. Why has nothing been done about them? At least they're making someone money right?Maintenance requests take forever to complete, too. When someone does bother to have a look at whatever's broken the solution always seems to be 'give them a new ____ and leave the old broken one'. We've got broken chairs that have just been left here. You have to bug them about taking away the broken things.Again, I'm grateful for the proximity to uni and everything else, but there is so much wrong with this building.I wonder if Unite thinks it can get away with being mediocre because of how cheap their rent is compared to everyone else?

40c room temperature. Rabbit warren. Depressing. I would not recommend anyone else let their daughter/ son stay here.I have contacted them to help with ongoing problems. No reply yet. These kids need light and fun. Not depressing, lonely rooms.Very underwhelmed by Jennens Court.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HERE!!!It started off okay but stillmany issues living here, had no oven for a week and no hob. During the end of my stay i had multiple issues with jennens allowing guests into my flat without permission. I spoke to numerous staff and sent numerous emails. They even threw away my belongings without my permission, gave them multiple opportunities to sort it out but they didnt care to help. Had the audacity to offer me a £10 “apology” voucher. When i said it wasnt good enough they began ignoring me. Manager also knew ab all this and made no effort to contact me or resolve it. Such a shame.
