Just want to start off saying, within my family we have only really ever owned VW cars and always enjoyed a good experience but sadly I can’t report this as a good one from VW Newport.Having had the unpleasant experience of having to organise my car to be repaired after a non fault insurance claim I chose to use VW Newport as they were my local VW dealer and it’s always good to support local where you can.After having my car in for repair and having to chase for an update between all parties (insurances and garage) I eventually collected my car. On returning home I noticed a poor over spray over one of the parking sensors, which was disappointing but within 48 hours a fault light kept appearing on my dashboard that indicated travel assist wasn’t available and the error persisted. Having called several times, speaking to several staff all telling me different things, they told me they could not re book the car in for over 7 weeks even though the issues with car were as a result of the time it had been with VW Newport during repair. I asked if the car was safe to still drive and no satisfactory response was given. I had to call VW assist to get assurance of this.Eventually the car was booked in again, however no courtesy vehicles were available.After a re inspection this resulted in further parts being needed that surely should have been identified when it was in the garage for the first time. Finally I collected my car for the second time, again with no apologies for the inconvenience caused and money and time spent getting to and from the garage, and to my shock and horror within a couple of miles leaving the garage another fault light came on stating return to workshop immediately as an emergency SOS appeared. I phoned the garage immediately who again questioned me. There was an error with the software and needed several resets; this should have been dealt with while it was in the garage for the second time.This took over an hour where I was left to wait, where it could have been done before I came to collect the car had they tested it appropriately.Mistakes happen and I accept that but during the whole period not once did they offer an apology to make me feel valued as a customer.

Service was incredible from start to finish.I originally enquired via phone as I live about 1.5 hours from the dealership. I was looking for a very specific model and colour.Adam was helpful and informative, providing videos and details on the car I was interested in. I decided to visit for a test drive and Adam helped me reserve the car until I was able to get there.Upon arrival, Adam was welcoming and friendly and everything was set to take it out for a drive. As we weren’t familiar with the area, Adam joined us and talked through different features whilst I was driving.I fell in love with the car and when we returned, decided to go ahead with purchase. Time was taken to find the best option for me and to include a service plan. Both from Adam and his manager, who I believe is called Mike (sorry if that’s wrong)As the car needed some touch ups on paintwork and alloys, I was unable to drive the car away, but Adam very politely offered to drive the car to me when it was ready to save me another 3 hour round trip. Also understanding that as I had already sold my car, i was looking to have this one asap, he had the work completed and delivered in 3 days!Upon delivery the valet wasn’t great but mistakes happen, and after notifying Adam of this, a manager called me within the hour and instead of a “sorry about that” he suggested a resolution that was convenient and beneficial to me. A lot of people are quick to linger on the negatives, but problems do occur and I think you can tell a lot about a company by how they resolve them when they do.Also I’d like to mention that throughout this process, I had just become a first time mum and wasn’t the easiest person to get hold of and when he did manage to speak to me, I wasn’t always the most coherent and often asked the same thing repeatedly, but Adam was kind and patient and I genuinely felt like nothing was to much hassle.I was kept informed and up to date along the way and even after the sale, Adam remains incredibly helpful.Because of this continued service, I would make the journey to visit this dealership again.P.S Adam deserves a raise, the hours and efforts he puts in are second to none!P.P.S my little boy absolutely LOVES the panoramic sunroof!
