Came in for a pint as I used to like this pub. But this time I was very disappointed. Got barked at by some random locals dog. No apologies given. Bar staff polite. Cider is nice. But boy does the place need a refurbished. Very low state of repair. Doesn’t make you want to come back again.

Decent little no-frills local pub tucked well away so you get a different clientele to what you get on/near the high street which I’ve found refreshing. I tend to go for the last Sunday of the month blues jam. Good music and pleasant, friendly vibes. The host of the jam, Errol Linton, is a blues harmonica legend and it’s worth rocking up just to see him warm up the crowd.

Food delicious but service generally inefficient and unreliable.Just arrived (7.15pm) after reading that they offered take-out and dine-in and was brusquely told by a member off staff that the kitchen had closed until January (December 2021).

My go to pub in Clapham. An excellent amount of outdoor space with a well priced and good range of drinks options. The new menu has well portioned snack sizes to keep the stomach suitably lined. It's about a 5 minute walk off the high street.

I saw a band called Solace here. They were really good. Originally from Isle of Wight so if you get the chance to see them then do so!! Good atmosphere, friendly staff.

My go to pub in Clapham. Live music and entertainment with an excellent amount of outdoor space and a well priced and fairly extensive range of drinks options. The new menu has well portioned snack sizes. The lobster roll is the best and such good value for the quality. Truffle mac and cheese is really really tasty and the chicken biscuit is something totally different but in a good way.Well worth a visit if you are in the area and looking for a fun relaxed night out.

Great pub, live music, theatre and good service. The lobster roll is the best and such good value for the quality. Truffle mac and cheese really really tasty and the chicken biscuit is addictive.

An awesome happening place! I don't drink, so can't comment on the drinks, but did try a couple of vegetarian options of food and I must say, they were pretty good.. They do support Live events. Check on their website to know about events happening. Worth attending!

This pub is like an Aladdins cave. It has plenty of outdoor seating at the front (all with canopy umbrells), lots of seating inside, an additional seating area at the back with floor to ceiling windows and a good sized beer garden with a side entrance. There is a small stage by the entrance for live music and comedy acts. They also have a small intimate theatre upstairs; there are a few stairs to access it so those with mobility issues should take note. They serve food and dogs are welcome.

One reviewer has written that the place is in need of refurbishment. I agree.I visited Clapham's Bread & Roses on the Sunday of the August Bank holiday weekend (2023) at around 3 pm. The place was quiet, with just a handful of customers. I was last there in 1999. I remembered it as a fun, original and uplifting pub.A word that fairly describes what the Bread & Roses was like on my latest visit is 'dump'. The place was a dump. The pint of hand pumped bitter I drank there was ok. The four other Clapham and Balham pubs that I visited on the same day were all packed with customers.
