Absolutely first class relaxed dining experience in a smart but informal setting. A new venture for Cambs Cuisine who have a small chain of sumptuous cosy country pubs all doing excellent food, and this new modern setting is no different. The food is thoughtfully curated to a high standard and served by experienced staff that set the right balance between relaxed, smart and professional. We were served by the delightful Liene who was perfectly friendly but not obtrusive.

Booked breakfast for 9.45am as a birthday surprise. On arrival they had no knowledge of the booking. The hot buffet was virtually empty and we were told the kitchen closed at 10... No bacon or mushrooms. Asked if they could restock. Kitchen said they were now closed. £20 a head for half a breakfast. Quality of the food we did have was good. Won't be going back.

Great service but quite expensive. The food was okay, but I expected better for the price. Not much in the way of choice for vegetarians.

I went for a meal last Friday. The service was very slow and took about 25 minutes to get our first drinks.There were two serving in our area and one was training. Whilst I appreciate training has to happen, on a Friday night? Thankfully the food wasn’t as slow and the dishes came out in expected timing.The food was very tasty and choice was good. Everyone enjoyed starters and mains but less so the desserts.The restaurant was a little cold. It appeared to be due to the fact the huge main hotel doors opened automatically every time someone went to the toilets or passed by outside.I’ve booked to go back in December for a friends meal to celebrate a couple of birthdays. Very hopeful the service aspect has improved by then. If it has, I will upgrade this review.I visit other Cambs Cuisine places regularly and they are usually high standard so I think this will get there

We had a great evening in the Astronomer, the staff there were fun and knowledgeable. The standard of finish in the bar and restaurant is brilliant and the subtle cosmic themes throught the menu and decoration is enjoyable.Looking forward to our return and definitely is a place to visit when in the Cambridge area.

Excellent experience with a family meal here on a Monday lunchtime. We had the set menu, which is excellent value, a very full meal with 3 courses, and lived up to Cambscuisine's very high standards. The a la carte had appealing and distinctive choices as well and would be a great choice too. Service was good, ambiance lovely. We'll be back many times, I'm sure. Highly recommended.

Had a very wonderful time here with a friend after it newly opened, the menu is a little small but it seems to change fairly regularly so am excited to return again! The atmosphere is very beautiful, the decorations are very lavish and they have a nice bar. The food was great, I had the pork belly which just melted off my mouth and also the fried duck egg which was paired really nicely with a horseradish sauce with cucumber. There's a nice lunch discount which I might try as well.Only issue I had was with the service, which was very slow - we didn't get asked for our orders for about 15 minutes, and then trying to get the bill was exceptionally slow and it was hard to get anyone's attention. Once we finally did get it the value of one of the dishes had been increased so we asked about it and then about 15 minutes later we finally got the updated bill after some kerfuffle (presumably some menus were changed or something?).Willing to excuse the slightly poor service given it's a very new restaurant and a reasonably busy day, but if we were in a rush it would have been exceptionally frustrating! Despite this, very willing to give it another try as the food was delicious.
