Dunfermline Abbey and Palace
This is an awesome example of an 800+ year old abbey. It's believed to be the resting place of Robert the Bruce. It's a must-see, and it's not too far off the beaten track.

Dunfermline Abbey and Palace
Great historical place if you want an important landmark in Scotland's history. Some of the early kind and queens are buried here along with Robert the Bruce. The gardens are beautiful to walk through and will be even better in the summer.

Beautiful Abbey. My family and I visited all the way from Tasmania, Australia, to check out some of our family’s heritage, as my father is a direct descendent of Robert The Bruce. Upon arrival and departure of the Abbey, we were greeted by a lovely Gentleman named Kevin. Nice historic group of buildings, well kept grounds, and knowledable docents. The town immediately around it is quite beautiful, and walkable.

Took my Irish friends to see the Abbey, hadn't been in for years. Lovely guides inside, very knowledgeable and now a nice wee gift shop with a nice lady who spoke to us for a bit.

Parking nearby with only a short walk. Free entry but you can give donations. Beautiful building and grounds. Lots of plaques with qr codes that enable you to get more historical information. Well worth a visit.
