My father in law got overdosed by the staff and was also neglected so much he got a massive bed sore on his foot. He then could not walk and went to hospital because of his poor care. He died not long after.

My brother and sister were recently on BBC news to tell what happened to our dad. He died after being overdosed with 10 times the dose he should have had twice a day for a week! He developed a massive bedsore in that time which can only have come from neglect and lack of care. He never recovered from the resulting damage to his poor body.Shockingly the latest CIW review shows that administering medication is still a problem for Kinmel Lodge. Our family are still waiting for the results of the inquest into dad's death in August 2022. We don't want anyone else to go through what our dad and our family have had to go through. We cannot recommend Kimmel Lodge and would recommend you send your loved one elsewhere.

Kinmel lodge is a lovely care home, all the staff and management are approachable and friendly, the food is delicious and the residents are happy there and there’s always a nice atmosphere when you arrive. A lovely calm and friendly dementia home.

My grandfather was here last year until we were notified that Kinmel Lodge had overdosed him by ten times the amount needed, twice a day for a week. He never recovered and died shortly after. Why were staff not trained properly in administering medication? Who was checking procedures? Why was such a significant stock of medication available? Recent inspections by CIW say the medicine procedures are STILL not robust enough. The inquest into my grandfather’s death is ongoing, a year later.Heartbreaking reading the positive reviews of the people who ‘enjoy’ working here. Parties, activities and a budgie or two are all well and good but serious neglect through understaffing and medicine procedures with untrained, unsupervised staff can kill.

Terrible place. The owners have no compassion and only care about profits. Short staffed and high staff turnover. Neglect and lack of care for my father left him with a bed sore bigger than a creme egg on the heel of his foot. He had to go to hospital and died several weeks later on August 30th 2022.

I have been visiting this home for over 10 years, and can honestly say it is one of the best in caring for vulnerable people. The staff are always caring and go above and beyond for the residents. They are often working with people with advanced dementia, who can be aggressive and have complex needs, but they show endless patience, and offer genuine and empathetic support. The management are very responsive to changes in residents needs and work closely with medical professionals to ensure they get the best care. I would highly recommend Kinmel Lodge to anyone looking for a care home that provides excellent activities and responds to their residents needs and wishes. Their Facebook page shows the many wonderful activities carried out, as requested by their residents.
