Dead Northern

Had a great time at the festival with my wife. The way the whole event was organised was fantastic and the chosen films were very enjoyable too (even if I was slightly scared!). Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good night out, especially fans of horror movies.

What a fantastic event. The organisers clearly have a huge passion for the genre and this shines through in everything they did meaning the event was incredibly fun from top to bottom and everyone seemed to be filled with a shared joy. With Yorks plethora of spooky history, a horror film festival just makes sense here and I could think of no better people to run it than Dead Northern. I can't wait for next year!

Had a fab day at the festival, it was a great vibe, met other like-minded people, met the organisers, bumped into some of the cast from a couple of the films. Can't wait until the next Dead Northern event.

I've been to DeadNorthern film festival twice now and absolutely love it!Always well organised and has an incredible, friendly, welcoming vibe from the moment you walk in. People are always up for a chat and a laugh - feels like you're part of a weird, kooky family more than anything else!The venue is fantastic, with a bar which serves food (and the odd cocktail), also seeing the films on a big screen really makes it different from other festivals.They run Q and As and other fun events - Spirits with Spirits was defo a highlight! Having the film makers and actors there to mingle and chat through their films with also makes for a fun time.Can't wait to go back next year - I have a feeling it'll only get better and better!

I have attended the horror fest by Dead Northern for a few years now and have thoroughly enjoyed it every year. The organisers are obviously passionate about horror and sharing that passion in a high quality and well organised annual horror festival for all to enjoy. Highly recommended and not to be missed.

Fab event, run by organisers who clearly have a huge passion for horror and are wonderful to talk to. I loved the effort they went to to create custom t-shirts for the bar staff at the venue, such little details like this show you how much thought and care is put in.A fabulous variety of events, as well as films, there is always something for everyone. Plus there is a lot of love for those who make the films and you can see a lot of the actors, directors and producers in attendance.

Had a fab time. Met one of the film directors and some of the actors too which was awesome. Watched my favourite film of all time (28 Days Later) and they even showed an alternative ending which I had never seen before. All in all I’d definitely recommend and will be getting my ticket for 2023 as soon as it comes out - 5 stars all the way!

Had an amazing time here last year and very much looking forward to attending it again this year.The event was incredibly well organised, absolutely top notch hospitality from the hosts. The perfect weekend for any horror film fan. See you again soon!

Dead Northern is such a fantastic event and I always look forward to attending it every year.This is no ordinary horror film festival. They break the usual narrative of your traditional film festival by providing live events such as Q&A sessions, interactive discussions, mentalism, live music and even a seance!The passion, professionalism and friendly nature of the organisers is felt from the moment you enter the cinema. It feels like you’re part of a fairly unique, if not odd, family. Can’t wait for next year!

Dead Northern is a masterfully organised and judged film festival and event that promises scares and entertainment in abundance. Gareth and Josh are friendly, approachable and, more importantly, they know their horror and how to organise one hell (pun intended) of a film celebration.
