A Man With Van Abingdon Removals

This is the second time Mr Aldridge has attended and on both occasions he has rushed the job, been dismissive and discourteous to his customers and has haggled over the price. He has hurriedly removed the items from his van and left the customers dissatisfied and underwhelmed with his service.

we booked the services of man and vanhe agreed price over phone date etc,one sent a text toconfirmon day of moving no one turned up I sent a text no reply then phoned up hour later he said he had no vans that day I said I booked it with youhe he said I didn't text to confirm didn't say to do that as it was coonfirm on phone and his text I wouldn't risk booking this service very rude un professional

We needed someone short notice to help us move after the original helper caught covid. We found and messaged this company and agreed 10:15am for £60. At 10:30 we called to see where he was as was not there. We had everything waiting on the driveway. He said 20mins and he was finishing another job. 20mins comes and goes. So we call again. He claims 10 more minutes but was longer than that. Then on the phone says we need to pay him £120 to which my boyfriend says no the agreed amount was £60. He then says there’s a 2h min charge which we were not told and my boyfriend explains it’s a 30 min job (which it was as it was 1 trip across Abingdon) so we will pay £60 as agreed. He then says £70 is the lowest and we settle on £65. He kept claiming £65 was what he told me even though I have messages to prove otherwise. If we didn’t agree to £65 he would turn around and leave us. We only paid it because we had to move and when we tried other companies there was no availability that late.Extremely unprofessional behaviour and do not recommend. Luckily we were able to move after he turned up 1h5mins late. We had to call and apologise to our new landlord about the delay, luckily he was understanding.Also if you look he left himself a 5 star review- guess he forgot you can see the names of who writes them
