Fortress Scotland

I run a small property business in Edinburgh and have used Fortress Home Group on a number of occasions now. They have been first class in terms of value for money, reliability and quality of finish. They have supplied and fitted windows, doors and french doors. I found these guys to be honest and very easy to deal with.

Where are you? What makes you think it's ok to treat people so badly!! First visit planned the last week in May..no show (although the salesman said his address was local to mine). He would drop in on the way home from his work? Didn't happen! Second visit planned again at the end of May after I instigated this visit. I should have gone with my gut feeling then and walked away . The designer /salesman did show up and did some drawings.Youve guessed it... he was going to get back in touch in the first week of June with drawings and prices. Again I had to contact the company to ask about my drawings/ plans but they ignored my email. This company have no respect for their clients. Stay clear as all you will receive is broken promises,upset and frustration. They clearly don't know how to do business.

AVOID at all costs. Windows have a gale force wind coming through and despite 3 attempts at trying to fix - they are still as bad. 4th Attempt they didn't even bother turning up when they said they would. Despite emails and letters to company director they now don't bother responding. Currently seeking assistance from Trading Standards. Zero follow up customer service. I notice in all previous negative reviews they say they don't have customers on their books so expect this will be response to mine! They are also not registered with FENSA or DGGCO. Avoid.

Spent over £10,000 with this company on aluminium windows and doors. We had a few delivery issues and misunderstandings between my contractor and the window company. My contractor did not fit the windows or doors but did the sealing of both. After a couple of months had issue with a small leak on point of the windows. I asked window company for their help and advice in case my contractor had done something wrong, initial response was good and we agreed to pay for someone to come out, he never did. After chasing a few times got the following reply from the owner, not really very helpful having spent over £10,000 on his windows.Hi Mark,I’ve certainly not been avoiding you, I just don’t have time to wipe everyone’s arse, your problem is not one created by my company, we installed on a dry fit basis, therefore any sealing issues aren’t my concern, if Mark wishes to come back that’s fine by me, but I won’t be wasting my time organising to clear other people’s mess.RegardsTom Hughes.Following this we now have an issue with both doors - one door does not close properly and the handles on both doors sheared off. After numerous calls and emails nothing from this company. They might have a point with the sealing of the windows but they could at least of helped me out but nothing - After sales service is not for them. The door handles and sticking door at £1000 each are a manufacturing issue so certainly their fault but nothing. I would avoid this company like the plague they do not deal with any problems after fitting. I am now taking action against this company under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 to try and resolve the issues I have.

I used mybuilder web site and asked for 5 quotes. I was impressed when Thomas called and measured and promptly gave me a detailed plan and costing he didnt do any hard selling he let his work do all the talking .Fortress then came installed the 5 windows and a door within one day an excellent service.Recently there has been some anti social behaviour in my location and my windows got smashed on 2 occasions and other neighbours have had car theft etc. Fortress stepped up and helped me very quickly and replaced my windows with i am forever greatfull.

Atrocious customer service and no follow up to rectifying damaged and missing goods. Avoid at all costs and go elsewhere. Totally unprofessional and unreliable. Products that were delivered arrived late and damaged. They are not interested and just take money. I was left feeling like an idiot. Don't put yourself in that position.
