Velvet Hotel, Bar & Brasserie

The rooms were old and dirty. Nothing like the pictures.Paint coming off the walls, long hairs in the bathroom on the floor. After reporting this we were given another room located on the second floor above the bar. Until 5h in the morning we could sing along to every song. We reported this to the staff and the only response we got was that they indeed had an event. No apologies or nothing.We would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely not come back here.

Visited this restaurant for lunch with my partner. While the food was satisfactory, the pricing seemed high given the mediocre quality. My partner's beef salad was disappointing, containing a considerable amount of gristle, suggesting the use of lower-grade meat.Regrettably, our experience was further marred by the unfriendly demeanor of our waitress/host. Despite our courteous behavior, she displayed rudeness and neglected basic customer service etiquette. After settling the bill, she walked away without a farewell or acknowledgment. Improved customer service would undoubtedly enhance the overall dining experience. It's unclear if her behavior stemmed from a bad day, but her snobbish attitude and dirty looks were unwarranted.

Great weekend stay here and really enjoyed this hotel. We found the room decorated and furnished well. Little touches like the Illy coffee machine made my mornings so much better (creature of habit when it comes to coffee as soon as I’m up).Bath was brilliant. As a taller guy I struggle with usual smaller hotel baths but this was great with plenty of length and depth - a small touch of my own Penhaligons bath oil and I was in heaven!Bed both large and very comfortable. As a personal preference, the only downside to the room was the centrally controlled temperature. It was set to 22c which as someone who loves the cold is too warm for me. Would have opened the window but….The location is very central to Manchester and a vibrant and busy area with a number of bars and clubs nearby. Therefore expect some club/music noise up till around 3am on Friday and Saturday nights The double glazing keeps most of it out but there is some residual music noise… I had no issues sleeping through. If you want total peace and quiet maybe stay in the country or somewhere not in Central Manchester.Would recommend this place and might even be back again…

We had an amazing stay here at the weekend. We stayed for two nights and got upgraded to the signature suite. The bed was just devine. The shower was amazing. Everything about our stay was just lovely.We were in room 102 - right above reception facing the front, it was fairly loud but nothing we couldn't tolerate at all! Staff are lovely. I'd highly recommend this hotel and we will be back ✨

I booked this hotel as a suprise for my boyfriends 21st and it did not disappoint. As soon as you walk in the lobby you are greeted with the most amazing smell and amazing staff. They were so welcoming and polite it just made us feel more comfortable about staying there and when I rang them up to ask if I could come earlier to decorate the room for my boyfriends 21st they immediately said yes and they even left him a birthday card and some chocolates. The pillows were fully and the bed it’s self was just incredible we did not want to get out of bed in the morning. We will definitely be coming back here again everything about it was just perfect and my boyfriend absolutely loves it so thank you so much for a fabulous stay!

Thanks to Thanos and Maggie, I had the most unforgettable stay at Velvet. I was a very last minute booking after a mishap with another hotel, and had such a warm welcome. Thanos gave me an upgrade to the duplex suite after he heard about the other hotel, and it was the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, and will ever stay in.The bed was phenomenally comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. There were L’occitane cosmetic products, and a beautifully hot shower.Everything was sparkling clean, and I felt like I could shut the door and the world disappeared. For a Friday night in Manchester, that’s a very hard thing to achieve. I never wanted to leave that room, not even to go out and explore the city.Room service was so delicious, including an amazing cocktail.Thank you so much to Thanos and Maggie, as they made a very hard afternoon into the best two night stay in Manchester.

Came to Velvet Brasserie today for Sunday lunch with my friend who had a Virgin Experiences gift voucher which allowed us to have the 3 course meal option with a bottle of wine. The food was delicious & the portions were really good. The house wine was also lovely and we had a jug of tap water for the table. The service was great and all of the staff were lovely and attentive. Would definitely recommend a visit here and we will definitely be back ☺️

Boutique Hip & Modern hotel in perfect location. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, quiet but also close to a lot of fun bars, restaurants and shopping. The food & cocktails are incredible and the restaurant’s atmosphere fun and lively. Highly recommend!
