Vets Now Barnet

Very lovely vet Alexandra who explained everything and truly just saving our dog as he was truly dying.We were very upset having to leave our young beagle overnight but felt reassured by Alex. Everything was clearly explained starting on the condition, treatment and ending on payment details. Highly recommended-Thank you

I don’t even know where to begin. My local vets were recently taken over by a bigger company and as a result Vets Now Barnet are now their emergency service.I took my dog on 21/06 to them for an emergency appointment with suspected grass seed in his paws.On the night they charged me over £500 for looking at his paw and putting on a bandage. Fine. It is what it is. At least I knew my dog was ok and the grass seed had popped out.When I looked at the bill it had a £25 admin fee. I queried this and was told it is for them to submit my insurance claim. I explained on the night that I will not be submitting an insurance claim as there was an exception clause for grass seeds on it. There’s no point submitting it - it will be rejected. I asked them to remove the £25 admin charge. I was told this had been done and I paid the bill - £25.Since then I have been receiving by weekly letters chasing me, threatening me with debt collectors over the £25 admin fee. I have tried calling them several times. Either I am forever on hold, or they answer and make an excuse as to why they can’t help me - excuses have ranged from “wrong department”, “system down”, “can’t access the case file” etc. I have been given over the weeks 3 different numbers to ring. I have rung them all and they are STILL chasing me for £25 for something which they never did. No claim form was ever submitted. They haven’t had to do any admin. Their letters do not include email addresses, but enough is enough I have found an email address online and emailed them tonight.Absolutely awful system, overly expensive for no reason and careless. Borderline harassment.I am going to ask my normal vets if they could possibly recommend any other emergency vets for the future.

Sunday evening emergency (snake bite!) and they triaged quickly and gave her pain medication whilst we waited (there was only one vet on so it was a 2 hr wait).Once seen, they took her in and did all the checks (x-rays, bloods etc) and all the medication so when I picked her up in the morning to transfer to my own vets, all the hard work had been done and she was feeling a lot better!

This vet was incredible at treating my pet during an emergency out of hours appointment, a special mention to Anna (black hair) she was so kind to me and so loving towards my dog. I haven't had this experience with other vets over the years so really appreciated her going above and beyond to help us. Thank you Anna x

Took my 8 month old cat Hugo to out-of-hours vets in Barnet as he had a temperature was lethargic and didn't want his food.The gentleman vet said it's most probably an infection, either bacterial or viral so he gave him antibiotic injection, pain relief, antiinflammatory and fluids to cover both causes.The vet explained everything clearly and was thorough, professional and pleasant.Hugo had perked up within the hour and was back to normal the next day.It cost a bomb but it saved his life and you can't put a price on that.Thank you very much!

Extremely expensive £320 for consultation and further £200 for eye drops and oral medicine. I am not clear if this could have waited until the next day for a non urgent appointment but followed the advice I was given over the phone.However the dog is better now.

My dog was feeling unwell for some time and last week, after a day treatment at my local vet he was getting increasingly worse over the night. I contacted Vets Now late at night sticking help. I spoke to Amy over the phone several times during the night and received valuable and professional advice regarding managing the symptoms. Unfortunately my dog's condition rapidly deteriorated and we had to attend the night clinic.When we arrived Amy and Ana were absolutely brilliant helping us with patience and compassion.Their human approach and dedication to the service for animals made that horrible night, when my dog was suffering, so much easier to manage. Amy and Ana made me believe in people. Thank you so much.

What a service! Called and spoke to Cass who asked me to send a video of my poorly doggy - vet said come right away. From the minute I entered all the staff lovely. The triage nurse wonderful. The vet was wonderful and I felt my dog was well cared for. We were seen right away. All staff compassionate and friendly. Very nice ethos and feel of the place. Thanks for saving my Skippy dog! The Veterinarian was sooo lovely even though she was busy. She was aware and acknowledged us despite being new to her practice. The receptionist, student Veterinarian were all accommodating. Even the cleaner ensured the cleanliness was prim and proper, acknowledging all animals within the vicinity.
