I phoned central reservations on Friday, asked for a ground floor room and was given 102. Got to the hotel and wasgiven 202. So had to climb the stairs with greatdifficulty.Black and yellow tape on the floor at checkin, clearly to cover a fault in the boards, was not encouraging.No heating on in the roomwhen we got there. Theroom was meant for oneperson: one hand towel,one bath towel, one plasticcup in the bathroom.Definitely not dementia inclusive either.Dirty glasses in the bar.Carvery was poor.The pillows and quilt cover were badly creased and honestly looked as if they had had someone lying on them.One bedside light was hanging off and clearly unsafe.Toilet was dirty at the back, shower was dirty.Couldn't get many channels on the TV. Curtains were blowing in the wind because of badly fitting windows.Windows frames in hallway needed a deep clean. Hallway was freezing.Whole place needs upgraded.The bedroom is well set out with everything needed. Bed very comfy.Staff are pathetic. Too busy serving bar customers to check us in. Served customers that came to the bar after us. Carried on conversations with other staff or served customers whilst waiting for us to complete our registration form. Chewing gum.Why haven't they got a portable payment machine. I had to walk from the check in area along the bar to the card machine and back again to check in. Not great when you have a knee and hip in extreme pain.Never again.

The check in was great, very smooth,done by a very cheerful fella. We we're a little early but our room was ready and we were shown to it with all our questions about our stay being readily answered along the way. The room was spacious, plenty of plug sockets,firm bed,big telly,en suite, very comfortable ,very clean and it was very quiet. The food we had while we were there was lovely and worth the money, the beer was nice and the service was great. We will stay there again

this Innkeepers Hotel is convenient as a half way travel point. it is clean comfortable with friendly staff. love the toby cavery restaurant on site & has a good atmosphere.the flooring in our room ( 106 )was very creaky & noisy when needing to get out of bed during the night it really needs attention,

Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfy clean room. Carvery and breakfast were very good, great value for money.

The staff were great! Arrived early and asked to check in early due to going to the races. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests.The black mould around the shower does not look particularly nice!

One night stay enroute home after long drive.Chosen for location and food options.Very helpful staff and great room .

Spacious room, nicely furnished and decorated. Comfortable bed and spotless white bedding. Great, modern shower room, all very clean. Food quality good and very reasonably priced. Staff very helpful without exception.Just a couple of small negatives. I didn’t know that I had to collect a mug and cutlery from reception for breakfast. Would have been helpful to know at check in. Secondly, toilet in shower room didn’t flush properly. It wasn't an issue until the morning of departure. It was reported.

Friendly reception staff, .ade us feel welcome, great room, warm and clean with a really nice bathroom and terrific shower. Breakfast was good but not early enough for me, shef was great

I booked for 2 people and in the room was one bed.. I asked the receiptionist to be change the bed as we were coming back after 2215hrs. She said will try if not will be changed on 7/10/23 as we would be leaving at 0830hrs and coming back after 2200hrs. I even reminded the receiptionist to change the bed before we left on the 7/10/23 mornig.When we came back the room had still one bed. I wish you do not do promises things which you do not fullfill.

Loved the room and bathroom. Shame about having to walk up two flights with suitcases. Service downstairs at the bar was slow at times despite number of staff. Clean room. Great Carvery.
