Oakleafe have been excellent throughout the whole of our process of our claim. We have experienced a difficult claim that has been handled by Grant Williams. The claim was rejected initially by the insurer after the loss adjuster had attended site and carried out his report. Grant liaised with the loss adjuster and handled the meeting and inspection. The claim was then rejected, Grant followed this up by writing to the insurer, clearly showing in the policy that they were liable for the claim. Again this was rejected, Grant then wrote and supported us in our complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. The FOS supported our claim and then Grant helped to negotiated the costs of the works so that we only were reduced by a minimal amount.Without the support of Oakleafe I know we wouldn’t of got to the point we have, due to experience needed to handle such a large complex claim and also the time resource it would have had on the Directors of the business. Grants technical expertise and understand of policy wording and insurance terminology and law has proven invaluable in order to get the claim overturned and paid. I cannot recommend Oakleafe Claims and especially Grant Williams highly enough.

If you have a large claim no matter how simple you think it is and promises from loss adjusters, remember that loss adjusters still work on behalf of the insurance company - DON'T think twice get yourself a loss assessor, we really wish we knew better, and the old saying if i knew what i know now, i would have contracted Oak leaf at the outset - nut nobody tells you these things.Initially we assumed our claim would be handled with the upmost duty and care by our loss adjusters, we were given lots of promises by our landlords loss adjusters, after nearly 2 years of being thrown pillar to post, excuses made of why specific work not undertaken, and from loss adjusters calculation there was no BI to be paid out...! we contacted Oakleafe, due to being at the end of our tether.We went through the initial process of completing forms submitting information to Oakleafe and then Grant Williams was assigned as our loss assessor, just having a loss assessor the insurance loss adjusters took note and things started moving in the right direction. Grant requested all financial information accounts, losses etc sent to their financial accounts for analysis.Finally our claim has been settled and we have been paid some BI, it's better than nothing, their are some outstanding works bu this falls onto the landlord now due to claim being closed on the landlords insurance part. our claim started June 2020 and only now July 2023 has closed.Grant and the whole team of Oakleafe have been fantastic, the insurance industry is a mine field and they walk you through it, on hand to answer any questions.If we has assigned Oakleafe from the outset (i really wish we could turn back time) our losses would be much less, the salon which was flooded and needed a full rip out and repair would have been managed by them and would have save a great deal of stress and sleepless nights.I hope i never have to use Oakleafe again, but if i do need to they will be our 1st point of call.Thanking Grant and all of Oakleafe for all their help, if it was not for them we would have no business left.
