Shetland Hotel

All perfectly fine and functional but be aware it's pretty dated. Rooms and corridor do smell damp/musty and the wifi is patchy.

Just across from the Northlink ferry. Very convenient.Dropped off our luggage and toured the island,bags in our room on afternoon return.Staff very helpful and competent.Food was very goo:d particularly breakfast, the blackpudding was delicious should have asked where they bought it.Rooms were large comfortable beds furniture dark and very substantial.

Perfect for work travel and is close to walk to the trading zones in Lerwick. Rooms are very nice

Average hotel that doesn’t justify the price you pay. Not well maintained rooms and lobbies, carpet smells bad and Wi-Fi doesn’t work most of the time! The windows are not well insulated and sometimes water ingress happens during rain from windows, and noise (from windows) will be a problem(in some rooms) if you choose sea view rooms.Breakfast starts at 7:00 and there will be very limited choices. The staffs are friendly though:)There are limited options available in the island, and this hotel is mostly booked by business travellers. If you are a tourist with rental car, look elsewhere.

Let's start with the positive: the room was spotlessly clean. The whole place is EXTREMELY tired though and the furniture should have been replaced or refurbished several years ago. Everywhere you look there are signs of neglect from frayed carpets to double glazing units that have blown. It was not good value for money either - even taking into account that everything is expensive in Shetland, £156 for a room for one night is high.

Great location, opposite the ferry terminal. Shops and restaurants are 5 - 10 mins walk away. Decent and large rooms with comfy beds. Restaurant breakfast is delicious and sizable. For dinner Burger and Steak are the best. Also delightful desserts available. Room service is good, if you need anything just ask and they'll deliver. Helpful and friendly staff.

Had a great experience at The Shetland Hotel this weekend. Rooms are large, warm, furniture is quality and the bathroom was nice and clean as well. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We are both gluten intolerant, and they advised they could cater for that. We decided to order room service breakfast, and the staff member on reception helped us fill in the card, and marked it very clearly as gluten free. Breakfast was delicious both days, came bang on the time we had requested and was presented on a tray etc. Sundries were easily available from reception, including toiletries. There was a smart TV in the room as well. Easy disabled parking for us to use right beside the front door. Our one small complaint was the WiFi disconnected a lot, but the first night there was a large function so it's likely it was just a bit overloaded, as the next day was much better. On that note, you wouldn't have known there was anything on from the room, it was very quiet! Will definitely be back, for the service alone.

Nice Hotel. Accommodated me at 10:30pm. My room had a bath in and shower which is rare to see is some hotels. The carpet in the room could do with being replaced ASAP as it had holes in it. Breakfast in the Hotel restaurant was DELICIOUS. It is located directly opposite the Northlink ferry terminal so perfect if you travel to Shetland on foot. I have stayed here before and will stay here again.
