Boyd & Logue Dental Surgery

I cannot recommend Boyd and Logue Dentists highly enough! I am severely dental-phobic and have been my entire life so even stepping through the door is a chore in itself. I found myself needing a dentist urgently last week and Boyd and Logue where more than accommodating and dealt with my fears in the most reassuring manner possible! From reception to the dental nurse to the dentist to even paying they all could see how nervous I was and put all my nerves at bay and I had the necessary dental work undertaken. After the experience I received I am now returning in a couple of weeks and have also registered my family. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Boyd and Logue especially Claire McGuigan and Denise.

I had a tooth that had 80% filling while keeping the front of the tooth, after only a few days it started to separate and made a gap, where anything would get trapped, I had called back in a week later and was told to keep brushing, after a year it started to get a black dot, I brought it up every appointment and was told the same thing. I just thought okay it’s cool Karen Irwin probably knows what she’s talking about, but then on my last visit my mother and I had both gotten chipped teeth after her cleaning them, it was literally the same day they chipped as they were cleaned, she is an aggressive cleaner. Now today after being unable to do anything about my minor issue due to the pandemic, it broke in the area that was most separated, and I now know that I had an immense amount of pressure due to build up over this time period, so I sincerely am discussed by being made to make me feel like I was having I’ll dental hygiene and I was just doing something wrong, I now know after looking for information, she had given me improper advise and my filling should not have separated at all due to the type of filling. Never going to blame the dental practice but KAREN IRWIN is to blame, I will be seeking a new dentist once they are open to get the tooth removed due to the hassle I’ve been through for almost two years

I was a patient here since I was in P3/P4 at the Honourable Irish Society primary school. My dentist was originally Mr Boyd and he was an excellent dentist. Since he's retired, I believe standards have slipped.I had an emergency one weekend, had been sleepless all weekend and even strong prescription pain killers for blown discs hardly put a dent in the pain.I telephoned late in the morning because I'd fallen asleep for a couple of hours after dawn. I told the receptionist that I had an emergency and she said that they'd fit me in asap, once I arrived.I said I'd be in immediately.I arrived. Explained the above and a thin-ish brunette receptionist with a big celtic style tattoo on her arm, told me to take a seat. I asked her if she would speak to the first dentist available and she assured me , yes. I was in excruciating pain at the time and she left me sitting in the waiting area until close of business. I saw many patients coming and going and a very kind man sitting opposite me even offered to let me go before him.Two hours or more had passed since I arrived.When he was called, he looked at me and I went to explain everything to the dentist. I was stopped by that dentist's assistant and it turned out that the receptionist had spoken to no one and as I had begun to suspect. Just left me to sit in excruciating pain.I'm sorry to say that I went back to that receptionist and raised my voice. I asked her if she'd spoken to a dentist and she confirmed that she hadn't. Was VERY happy with my previous dentist at this practice, Mr Dawson, for many, many years. Since his retirement, I've been assigned another dentist (don't even know her name) and she's abysmal. I don't think she uses enough anaesthetic, she DEFINITELY doesn't give the anaesthetic enough time to work. Every treatment I've had with her has been extremely painful as a result of her timing of the anaesthetic. Even the administration of the anaesthetic is painful as she's very cack handed with it. Am definitely going to be requesting a different dentist at this practice, if I don't get one I'll be changing practices

My wife suffered a very serious injury on road accident requiring immediate attention. Boyd & Logue received an emergency call from hub and did not contact me claiming that the wrong number had been misdirected, lying to me in this way. After three interventions just before noon, an end-of-day visit was scheduled for an x-ray. My wife waited 30 hours for help. Finally I have got faster help in other town. I advise against this, the behavior of the staff unworthy of a human being. Highly NOT recommended place !!! Beware !!!

Waited over half an hour for appointment and still wasn't called. Practice resembled a cattle market rather than a dental practice. And this after letter from Practice inviting me to make a check-up appointment was not stamped or franked, resulting in me having to go to the local post office and pay a fine before finding out who the letter was from. I think I will change to another dentist!!!

Amazing service, Got me in within an hour for a emergency appointment when my filling broke.Dentist and assistant made me feel at ease and done an amazing job!

Always a positive experience, I have been going here since birth. Any problems Chris and Ruth are very proactive in dealing with. Brilliant dentists.The surgeries are bright airy and clean as a whistle.If you are looking for the best dentist on the north coast look no further.
