Stanley House Hotel

I have stayed to this hotel and got worst experience. The first thing I had tó experienced was to meet a person at reception , namely Waqas. He was not only rude but also told me to get out of the hotel. When I told him I got the reservation here , he said he doesn’t care and abused me . Later he threw the key at me and told me aggressively to leave hotel as soon as possible. This person is the most terrible thing in this hotel and won’t go there.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary, always freshly made breakfast with toast, eggs and beans. Our room was cozy and clean, daily room service. Many restaurants, cafés, pubs, supermarkets and pharmacies in 5 min. walking distance. Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace also in walking distance.All in all: Yes, it's a budget hotel but it's still the best I ever stayed at in this price range! This is London and London is expensive...so don't expect luxury if you're not willing to pay for luxury!

Budget friendly yet nice place to stay with a warm and cozy room big enough for us and our luggage, nice and friendly staff, with free breakfast served fresh and hot, walking distance from Victoria Station and other food establishments, quite place for a good sleep and rest after a hectic day, clean and fresh beddings and towels and bathroom and shower is great with basic amenities..will definitely stay there again when back in London

Pros: Free, hot fresh breakfast. Good location. Hot shower. Cheap.Cons: Outdated design. Short ceilings. Very loud at night (one of our two nights). No hand soap in bathroom. Overhead light in bedroom often not working.I think overall we had a decent experience, it was very cheap and served our purpose. We didn't see bugs or mold like some others. Main irritation was noise on night one.

You get what you pay for... for real with this place.Let me explain: it's a VERY OLD MOTEL - HOSTEL not hotel.Room with rug as clean as possible for an old place.Beds comfortable & no noise even though we were on 1st floor rm31 with 1 double bed & 2 twinBathroom good....but ceiling by shower falling held with tape.NO AIR CONDITIONER or Ceiling Fan. We slept with window semi-opened.TV turned on but no channels.Hair dryer very dirty didn't work, when I asked for another one I was told they didn't have another.Pros: Saftey & security very good, you must buzz to get in or out.Place is in a safe area.We got fresh towels every day & and the room was cleaned & beds made.People friendly.Didn't try breakfast but looked good.The best part is the LOCATION.... 5minutes from Victoria Station, 3 minutes from great breakfast & food places. Also 10 minutes aways from restaurant Fellas Peri burgers, wings, chicken... only place open till 11pm & 20 minutes from Buckingham Palace.In conclusion If you get it very cheap go for it. If not get another place.

I stayed here last weekend with my sister, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and very affordable for such an amazing location. Also breakfast was very amazing, would definitely recommend!

This was truly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Upon arrival to the room, I removed the comforter on one of the beds. The sheet were covered in yellow stains and had crackers and crumbs on the bed. The shower was like a hose with no hot water. The beds were uncomfortable and would squeak when you breathed. The wooden bed frame had holes and there were missing parts to the bathroom walls. The staff member encountered was rude, unkind and unhelpful. I have a disability which makes it hard to climb stairs and I was given a room on the top floor (there is no elevator in the building). The heating in the room did not work but the hallways were all overheated. The room was so awful that I checked out the next morning; I didn’t even stay for my entire reservation. The only thing I liked about this stay was the neighborhood.

Hotel is a fire hazard, check out the fire alarm control box flashing errors all over- right next to the pile of dirty laundry that they keep in the narrow hallway on the way to your room.Bizarre experience entering the room that smells like old cheese and feet fungus. Shower had black mold and the shower head looked like a stalagmite. Beds looked like they've been recovered from the street but the sheets were at least clean.
