I am so grateful to Gladstones and everything they have done for me and my family. I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the incredible therapy and support I received in my 6 week stay and in the months afterward. Knowing that i could go back for aftercare once I had left made leaving feel much less intimidating, and helped me to stay grounded in recovery. My family took part in the family support groups and found them invaluable as a safe space to find support in a really overwhelming and difficult time. Thanks to them I am now a year clean and sober, and have my family back in my life. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone who needs help, I cannot fault my time there or the support from them since. THANK YOU GLADSTONES.

I recently attended Gladstones for one month of rehabilitation. Given how petrified I was on arrival, my welcome could not have been better due to the extremely friendly and reassuring Tracy, who got me booked in and took me to my room. Tracy was very helpful throughout my whole stay at Gladstones. The rooms were nice and clean although you may need to ask if you want your bathroom cleaned more regularly. The food was amazing, mainly cooked by Carol the wonder chef. The facilities were great and it felt like being at home. There were a few issues with some of the equipment we wanted to use at our leisure: getting the tv to work, none of the remotes working on the DVD players, and no working CD player. These things could easily be fixed. The counsellors were great, with a variety of approaches across the week. Even the ‘double act’ who were hard to accept at first, were really beneficial. Their approach is direct so it’s never going to be easy. My counsellor was Silvia and she was great (they all were). The support staff were lovely, helpful and would go above and beyond to help you. In particular, support worker Jennie was amazing, and she really really cares about the clients, which is so apparent. There were a couple of issues with the management / business side of things. For example we were unable to go to the gym or AA meetings a couple of times due to staff shortages and this seemed to be simply dismissed (despite having payed £12k for the month), and sometimes clients felt somewhat undervalued or disrespected because of their background or reason for being there. There was also some inconsistency amongst the rules. For example...the client booklet said we could go for a 30 minute walk yet the management tried to tell us this could only be for 10 minutes. There was also confusion over when I could send a letter home or use the phone. Another issue with staff shortages was that I only had 3 one on one sessions with my counsellor (not her fault) and no one went through my exit plan with me when I left. However my counsellor did ring me a couple of days after leaving. On the whole most of the counsellors and support workers are ex addicts and very supportive.Even though I live almost 5 hours away I will try and get to a few Saturday after care sessions.Overall the experience helped me significantly and so at this point I can only say it was worth it. There is still work to do but Gladstones can’t work miracles, just start you off in the right direction.

Please please ignore the positive reviews. If you want to get better and feel safe please do not attend this rehab. It’s overcrowded. The detox mattresses are beyond disgusting and the majority of staff, especially the so called therapist display narcissistic tendencies, that left me and many of my fellow clients more broken than we were before we went in.

I cannot thank all at Gladstones enough for supporting me in my recovery. I was admitted in April on the verge of losing everything. The staff are amazing and the therapy second to none. I wasn't able to stop for one whole day before I went in and now have 6 months recovery, a home and my daughter back in my life. I owe my life to Gladstones. Support after leaving has been phenomenal. Thank you x

Horrendous !!!I strongly advise and beg of anyone with an Eating Disorder, PTSD and numerous other illnesses NOT TO STEP FOOT NEAR THERE!!!I came out after 28 days sicker and more distressed than I was prior to going in. I made it very clear as to what my primary illness and 33 year battle is !!! NO-ONE there apart from one person (whom works PT nights has any idea regarding ED and the treatment.I can not emphasise strongly enough how sad I was begging for help with my anorexia and bulimia repeatedly and not even did a member of staff during each day time acknowledge this or help me. The dining room is not set up for ED, nor is the rest of the clinic. As a woman suffering with severe eating disorders it is at no point ok for me to have been told this is a primary care unit, as I was able to skip meals and purge due to so many reasons and no member of the staff were aware. begged for help prior to coming there and they knew my desperation. But I was so let down !!!!I am happy to verify and explain all this information and the complaint I took against them. They totally failed any duty of care, even to the point of something like placing me in a room (as an anorexic and bulimic) with a leaking toilet. It was not only I who was so sad and disturbed b this, but the group too. Numerous clients from the time I was there are happy to verify the absolute lack of care, compression and treatment for ED.I had only 5!!!! days of no starvation or purging out of 28.Having been to a residential treatment centre many years ago, I was utterly appalled by this one. The other private clinic saved my life. Gladstones will most likely request this is removed and thus I am hoping it will at least reach one person, so I know they will not suffer the same.

.I attended the Bristol branch over 8 years ago. I am trying to get a restraining order against them due to their obsessive harassment. I will never get this time back.1. Went for a 14 day detox in Feb 20232. Tricked to sign paperwork whilst intoxicating, with no whiteness and no copy. When you request a copy fobbed off with lame excuse.3.Followed back after detox. The start of this this 8 year nightmare.4.Owner Gary Winter and staff move next door discreetly and start stalking, harassing me. They have hacked my computers and Phone. Put devices in my vehicles. (This is very illegal)5. 20 people haves died whilst they do this sort of thing. They just watch and do nothing.6.They use people, Tv, Radio and any media they can to harass you and ruin your recovery with their obsessive behavior.7.The owner is a Freemason and says he has all power and can do what he wants.CULT8.Police have been informed numerous times nothing ever happens.9.This has nightmare has been happening for 8 years and continues.10. The only challenge I face is how I’m gonna get away from them.11. Face death threats, verbal abuse, Gaslighting, phycological abuse daily. I did not go there for this treatment.12. This place is a cult and should be avoided at all costs..

I went to Gladstones in April 2022. I was there initially for 4 weeks but decided to do a fifth which made a huge difference. The staff there are fantastic and the experience was really enlightening it changed my life. If you’re prepared to work on yourself and be open to change Gladstones can give you the tools to change your life for the better. It is an amazing place to turn things around.

I went to Gladstones in September 2022 and have been clean and sober since. The therapy is tough but so effective. I have learnt so much about myself and really understand where my drinking and drug using started. I now have weekly sessions of day care helping me stay on track. I want to say Thank you to the whole staff team you have helped me change my life xx

My wife and I recently visited Gladstones three times as a family member was staying there as part of a recovery process. The staff we met were pleasant and in particular Tracy who was extremely helpful who we had most of the contact with.We visited on family day and were made to feel at ease with the staff and had an enjoyable lunch. The rooms were comfortable and because the capacity is twelve people it has a homely feel about it.
