The Spring Bank Apart/Hotel

Very easy to book, and once you get there, checking in is pretty easy, although you have to do it over the phone by ringing a mobile phone number on the front door. After this you are let in, where you are told which room to go to, where you pick up your electronic keys for bedroom door and front door. In this sense is very easy and impersonal. However the beds were absolutely shocking. Mattresses completely and utterly knackered, springs noisy and poking through. Half my bed was collapsed, nails showing through underneath the mattress which my nearly tore my hands on. Cobwebs in the bedrooms, and bathroom. Toilet seat half hanging off. Very rundown and clearly needs a lot of money spending to bring it up to standard. When looking for somewhere cheap, it is, but this is reflected in the pure state of beds, bedding, furniture and fittings. I wouldn’t recommend it myself, and certainly won’t stay there again. The breakfast that is also included is continental and you have to help yourself to this on a morning in attention in the basement. I didn’t partake in this so can’t comment how good or bad that is.

Perfect for purpose and great value. Small modern room, but equipped well with everything you need. Very clean. Continental breakfast to help yourself too with a nice selection.

Budget accommodation, everything you'd expect plus the comfiest bed I have ever slept in!

Excellent find. Clean rooms. Good shower. Friendly man who allowed u access. Can check in whenever as it's done over the phone which was a bonus! Good continental breakfast. Self served cereals, toast, croissants, crumpets and more. Great location. Fan in he bedroom. Would highly recommend. Only negative was there was only one towel in the room for two of us

The room we stayed in had a very stained carpet and the bed I had, needed a new mattress as the springs had completely gone. Both the room I stayed in on the lower ground floor and the one my friend stayed in on the ground floor, really need painting and the holes in the walls fixing. This is in a great location and keeping the decor fresh and on top of cleaning, this would be an excellent place to stay.

Good place to stay for one night. Small room but clean & good shower. Would have liked 2 towels though!
