Having stayed here regularly during Q4 in previous years I was expecting a fairly comfortable town centre hotel close to parking.Mostly that's still the case but this hotel definitely has the feeling of one that's close to closure. The reception desk was a mess of paperwork with one inattentive member of staff barely present, the bar/restaurant appears to have been cleared out, the screen behind reception seems to have had a chair thrown at it. In my room there were several damaged fixtures and fittings, and wifi access without an internet connection.Digging around online one can't help but feel that the directors being forced to pay a combined 75k+ by the tax man means that perhaps there's no will to pay for good quality staff and basic repairs. I'll be looking for a different hotel for my work trips in future.

Warning this hotel is shocking!!!! Staff are rude and spent more time on phones!!! Room was above a club so banging all night on top of that a fire alarm going off more than once! This also knocked out the lift. Breakfast had been out for an hour and was like rubber, no hot water for tea, only one cereal selection generally shocking. It has the potential to be a lovely place as the room was a good size just a shame about the staff and the effort put into it.

Been here before and was great but last night we turned up to book in. Met by a grumpy scruffy looking guy. Then shown up to our room by somone who spoke zero English. WE wasn't given a room key and was told we couldn't have one. We wanted to go out and have a drink but without a room key we had no choice but to stay in the room. Really ruined our end of the Night tbh.

This was my main go to for work but I can't recommend the place anymore. There used to be breakfast, but now they don't even have an operational vending machine for a bottle of water. The card machines are like something from a 7/11 and not all cards work in them. They don't even have an operational printer anymore to print out a receipt.

Absolute disappointment! Arrived and staff looked miserable, barley spoke. Horrible damp smell. Went up to room and shower curtain was covered in stains. As we only booked for one night we decided to just carry on with our stay and and go out. Upon existing our room my husband checked the door to ensure it was locked at which point the lock mechanism fell out as did part if the door frame. Inside the frame was filled with expanding foam!! These are supposed to be fire doors! Went to reception to report this ... a member of staff said he would come up and see us... he didn't - we had to go back down and complain again. Gave us another room barley spoke and no apology either. The next room was OK there wasn't a shiwer curtain at all so at least we couldn't moan that it was filthy! No spoons to stir your drink. Nightclub was banging all night making it difficult to sleep! Would never go back there!

Amazing experience with the staff- Mohammed (MO) & Ahmed. We Stayed at Silurian Hotel which is located close to a bunch of great restaurants, bus stops and Tesco for grocery convenience. We met Mo and Ahmed at the reception who were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. We are certainly coming back simply because of the experience the staff gave us. We appreciate it.
